Kurse, later self-titled as Darth Kurse, was a Rattataki male and a self-declared Sith Lord from the Sith Order of Darth Vorath.
History[]
Born on the arid world of Rattatak, Kurse derived his name from the title he had earned from himself in the gladiatorial pits: "the Curse of Rattatak." His potential in the Force won him many a battle and he quickly found himself at the top of Rattatak's social structure.
In the years leading up to the Imperial Sith War, the Sith Lord Darth Ravage arrived on Rattatak in search of warriors to train as acolytes. Upon meeting Kurse, Ravage realized his potential and brought the Rattataki warlord before Darth Vorath. After assessing the warlord, Vorath agreed to give Kurse the rank of Overseer, tasking him with training and commanding the Sith Order's acolytes. This greatly bolstered Kurse's ego and he took much pleasure from lording over the acolytes, tormenting them as he saw fit.
With the death of Darth Vorath in 26 ABY, a power vacuum was left in his wake. Never one to pass on an opportunity, Kurse returned to Rattatak and declared himself a Lord of the Sith, giving himself the title of "Darth" in the process. Over the next four years, Darth Kurse and his small band of followers would lay waste to Rattatak and the surrounding systems in the Trilon sector. At one point, he set his eyes on the young Rattataki woman Valisa as a potential apprentice. However, he was deprived of this opportunity when New Republic forces led by Jedi Knight Noran Raun arrived on Rattatak and swiftly cut through Kurse's forces. Despite the reputation he had built for himself as a warlord, Darth Kurse was no match for Raun and was soon felled by the Jedi's blade.
