Kreshna Sh'i was a female Rodian weapons vendor on Coruscant who lived and died during the reign of the Galactic Empire. She was known to have come into possession of a Jedi lightsaber by 3 ABY, which led Wupera Kavos of the Imperial Reclamation Service to track her down and kill her to get the lightsaber.
Biography[]
Kreshna Sh'i was born in 16 BBY on Coruscant to parents who emigrated from Rodia, her species' traditional homeworld, during the Clone Wars as a result of the mass starvation occurring on the planet due to Republic supply ships being destroyed by pirates. Her parents were proud supporters of the Rodian senator Onaconda Farr and were distraught upon his murder for his brief dalliances with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Kreshna grew up in a loving household where her mother cared for her while her father operated a successful weapons store, selling to a variety of customers including bounty hunters and senate security officers. Their profits were dampened by the Empire's stringent control over weaponry on Coruscant but her father still earned enough to support them and, in time, he taught his daughter how to operate the business and she began to help him out with the store.
By 3 ABY her mother had died of illness and her father had passed away of natural causes, leaving her to operate the store alone at the age of 19. While it would be assumed that the ongoing Galactic Civil War would help her business tremendously, her position being stationed on the Imperial capital world meant that she had no way of conducting purchases from the Rebellion, and the Imperial Army for the most part used much larger weapons companies who sold products in large batches. She was only just able to keep her business afloat selling to bounty hunters and the odd civilian who wanted to protect themselves, but her fortunes were changed when she discovered a Jedi lightsaber hidden in the floorboards of her family home with a note from her father indicating that it had belonged to a Jedi Knight who was a member of their family hundreds of years prior. It appeared that her father had not lived long enough to inform her of its presence, and although the note implored her to keep it secret she was getting desperate and needed a sale.
She decided to sell the lightsaber for a high profit and put up various notes around the Coruscant underworld advertising it. This caught the attention of the Imperial Reclamation Service who sent inquisitor Wupera Kavos to retrieve the weapon at all costs. When Kavos tracked Sh'i down she explained that she would not part with the lightsaber without a price, which led to the inquisitor choking Kreshna to death with the Force, leaving her crumpled form on the floor of her store. She was avenged, however, by the arrival of Delof Terallo, Dija Kullias and R5-C3 who killed Wupera, with Terallo using the ancient lightsaber in a duel against Kavos.

Kreshna Sh'i was created for HarmonyGrex's short story Survival. While her demise at the hands of Wupera Kavos means that she will not return for future stories, the ancient Jedi Knight family member who originally owned the lightsaber may appear in a subsequent story.
