Krayt Clan was a Mandalorian crime organization that functioned from 26,054 BBY to 4 ABY, Red Knight's worst enemies, responsible for many crimes across the galaxy. They used to be allies of the Separatists, and enemies of both Republic and the latter Galactic Empire.
History[]
Krayt Clan was created around 26,054 BBY by few Mandalorians that "hated the world besides them". Their leader kept on teaching them that every other sentient race should be destroyed. During the next 100 years, the rapidly growing Clan was responsible for extinction - or at least extinction in the wild - of over 10 sentient species. When the Republic was formed, Krayt Clan had to hide in order to survive, and so it did, masking themselves as a buisness and technology organization located in a big skyscraper. In 32 BBY, the Clan decided to create a special, especially vile and dangerous battle droid and tried to send it directly into one of Republic ship hangars, but the operation was discovered by the brother of Xrax Kal, Vapon which warned the Republic about the plan. After the Clan finally found out who was responsible for the discovery and report, they sent out few troopers to his home, so they would shut his mouth for good. They were ordered to do it when the Kal family isn't home, but instead to make shure they won't dig any deeper, the Clan troopers killed everyone who was present at the Kal appartament, except Xrax who was just coming back from his work. Because of the fact that he wasn't present in the home, the Clan never knew about his existence. When Xrax came home and found his family, girlfriend and beloved brother dead, he decided to find out who ruined his life. The trail quickly led to the Krayt Clan, and during the next years, Xrax under the alias Red Knight ruined the plans and operations of the organization. In 2 BBY, the organization was no longer great and strong, instead being now a group of weak, but still vile gangsters, as Xrax destroyed their headquarters at Coruscant and the emergency headquarters at Nar Shaddaa. In 4 ABY during Clan's final battle with the Red Knight, he finally defeated the overhelming forces of the Mandalorians, and killed their leader by ripping his head off, after he gave up seeing his soldiers dead.
Organization[]
Krayt Clan was spread out all over the galaxy, and at least one member of it lived on most of them, Mandalorian or not. The leader of the organization, or "Overseer" as the official Clan term says had to be purely Mandalorian. Overseer could basically do everything with the Clan, giving orders to everyone that had a lower rank, that including the Planet Overseers, which could give orders to the Section Leaders. Usually every big planet like Coruscant or Tatooine had a Section Leader that controlled the Krayt Clan section in it, and gave orders to the sections' captains, which were controlling regular troopers of the Clan. Krayt Clan also had other units that weren't controlled by Section Leaders or Planet Overseers. Krayt Clan's headquaters was a giant Coruscant skyscraper, but after Red Knight destroyed it, the Clan moved to Nar Shaddaa's section base, also destroyed by the Red Knight. After that they regularly changed their headquaters.
The Clan was very high in numbers, and its members varied from street goons to highly trained and talented soldiers, assasins or bounty hunters. Most of the members wore traditional Mandalorian armour during operations, sometimes used and worn ones. Typical and most commonly seen armour scheme of the Clansman armour was blue and gray. Many of the helmets and chestplates were modified and personalised by their owners, either for camouflage or intimidating their opponents. The only indicator of being a member of the Clan was it's simbol on the left shoulder pauldron. Clansmen rarely used jetpacks and gauntlet miniweapons, which were reserved to the higher ranked members. Only humans were allowed to join the Clan, both men and women. If a member betrays the Clan or someone who is not a member knows about its existence, the Clan tracks him/her down and then brutally kills him/her.
