Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Force-sensitive Cerean male who was an esteemed member of the Jedi Order during its final days. Born in 92 BBY, Mundi was one of only several male Cereans in his village (due to the low male birth rate of his species). He showed a remarkable aptitude for the Force during his childhood and in 88 BBY, a Jedi Knight named An'ya Kuro discovered the boy and took him to Coruscant. Despite Mundi being much older than most Jedi initiates, he was eventually selected for training by Master Yoda. They trained together for many years, and throughout that time Mundi's master often became worried that his arrogance could lead him down a dark path. Nevertheless, he displayed exceptional skill with the lightsaber and the Force, and was eventually granted the rank of Jedi Knight; he was the final Padawan that Yoda trained before he retired from taking apprentices and became a Jedi Youngling instructor at the Jedi Temple.
After passing the Trials of Knighthood, Mundi was named Watchman of Cerea, and took up residence on the planet, where he gained appreciation for their technologically primitive culture. He was also granted the incredibly rare ability to marry and have children, due to the exceptionally low birth rate of Cereans. In order to sire as many Cereans as possible, Mundi practiced polygamy, marrying five women and having a total of seven children by them. However, he found it difficult to not grow attached to any of his partners or children.
After many years of dutiful service to the Jedi Order, Mundi became a Jedi Master and, in 33 BBY, became a member of the Jedi High Council to replace the deceased Micah Giiett; he had previously sat on the council temporarily several times. He continued in this position for many years, and in 22 BBY was a member of the assault team compiled by Master of the Order Mace Windu, to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala from the Petranaki Arena on Geonosis. Mundi was one of the few Jedi to survive the battle, and continued to serve on the High Council throughout the Clone Wars, becoming a High General in the Grand Army of the Republic.
In 19 BBY, Mundi led an assault on the planet Mygeeto alongside several other Jedi, including Girrolt Raxis. When Supreme Chancellor - now Galactic Emperor - Sheev Palpatine ordered for his clone troopers to execute Order 66, he was shot down on the planet by Commander Bacara. His death was one of many among the Jedi Order that day, and in the ensuing Great Jedi Purge carried out by the Galactic Empire.
