Khruukunu was a male Jungle Felucian belonging to the shaman caste. Although Felucians were a primitive species, a crew of slavers working for the Hutts captured a tribe and took them from Felucia several decades before the Great Galactic War, only to crash on a planet out in Unknown Regions, which the Felucians adopted as their new home.
During the Alliance's war against Empress Vaylin, Magenta Sparrow Innovations were searching for potential resource worlds in the Unknown Regions. Ben and Alucia Lambert took a shuttle to the planet, following their parents despite being expressly forbidden from doing so, and crash-landed in the unexplored forest, unaware that the shuttle they had taken was grounded due to a fuel leak.
The Felucians captured the two youngsters, forcing Benjamin Lambert and his wife Lexi to fight through Felucian territory to rescue them. Khruukunu had always been a timid soul and did not like the aggressive nature of their chieftain and – as a result – he approached the two invaders to offer his assistance, allowing Benjamin to see into his memories and, thus, providing him with a detailed layout of both the path to the Felucian village and the layout of the village itself. Though he did not aid the family in their fight, he was not done with the strangers just yet; using the Force, he cloaked himself and snuck aboard one of the shuttles called in to transport the Felucians back to their homeworld, disembarking aboard the Magenta Sparrow Innovations flagship, the Outreach.
Once there he followed his senses, tracking Benjamin and Lexi to approach them – still hidden – on the bridge. Benjamin sensed him, however, and revealed the intruder. Despite his infiltration, the two soon came to an understanding, communicating through the Force where language failed until Benjamin gathered that Khruukunu wanted to learn from the strangers – of the Force and the wider galaxy. Benjamin agreed to try teaching him, sending him off with the family droid to start learning Basic on the journey back to the known galaxy.
