Kha-Liim Dardray was a Jedi Kight in the years leading up to the Mandalorian Wars, and one of Revenna Sapyr's many teachers. She was a Jedi consular, and made her home at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Little is known of Kha-Liim's early life. She was taken from her birthworld of Thustra at a very young age, and had no memories of it. She was from a long-lived species, and was nearly a hundred and fifty years old by the time of her death in 3,980 BBY.
Knighthood and Training of Revan[]
So you carry green glowsticks, eh? A pair of consular's blades for a sentinel. Unorthodox. Maybe I'll like you better than I thought.
—Kha-Liim to Revenna
As early as 4,076, Kha-Liim was one of the few members of ExplorCorps to have reached the rank of Jedi Knight. Her primary duties involved the exploration of Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. She found many places strong in the Force or with unique histories; she would eventually pass the stories of these locations on to her Padawan, Revenna Sapyr, even taking her to explore them.
Kha-Liim fought during the Great Sith War alongside Nomi Sunrider, Jolee Bindo, and the other Jedi of that age. However, it was a painful time for her, and she would refuse to speak on the subject when questioned.
In 3,980 BBY, the training of Revenna Sapyr (later to be known as Revan) as an archivist under Master Dorak came to an abrupt end. Revenna was eager to continue learning about the Force, but was also impatient, and irritated at being constantly kept in the confines of the Temple. The padawan put in a request to be given more fieldwork and flight training. The Jedi High Council considered several Knights and Masters who had volunteered to train Revenessa, who by this point had a reputation as one of the most promising students in the Order. They eventually settled on Jedi Knight Kha-Liim Dardray, a Sephi consular who they believed could both fill Revenna's request and guide the Padawan deeper into the mysteries of the Force.
Kha-Liim taught Revenna many unconventional teqniques, from piloting one-man fighters to meditation. She also instilled in Revan a great appreciation of the balance between the Living and Cosmic Force. Kha-Liim believed an appreciation of the Order's history could not be gained through the archives alone. Therefore, she took Revenna to many historical sites, such as the remains of Ossus. She also grew to appreciate Revenna's knack for finding places strong in the Force, and hoped to train the girl as her sucessor.
Death[]
Master! Master Kha-Liim! They killed her!
—Revenna upon Kha-Liim's death
Kha-Liim was killed by a group of Mandalorian raiders on Rishi in 3,978 BBY, just before her Padawan graduated to Knighthood. Revenna, who was on another part of the planet with Alek Squinquargesimus (who would later be known as Darth Malak) and his Master, saw Kha-Liim's death through a vision. She swore to have vengence, but Alek talked her down. They later went to retrieve Kha-Liim's Lightsaber, as her body had gone to the Force.
Personality[]
Kha-Liim was a motherly being, fond of teasing the younglings and padawans at the temple. She often cracked jokes. During her youth, she had problems controling her temper. She was also very compassionate, and prized the unorthodox. For this reason, she carried a yellow lightsaber, despite her status as a consular.
Powers and Abilities[]
Kha-Liim was a Jedi Consular, and as such, possessed a natural affinity with the Force. She was known to make particular use of the Force Powers related to the senses (such as Force Empathy, Telepathy, Comprehend Speech, and Force Listening) and defensive powers. She was also a great fan of floating meditation and cold pilot one-man fighters.
Behind the scenes[]
Inspiration for Kha-Liim came from a picture of Jedi Master Fay
