There are no Jedi, and there are no Sith; there is only the Force, and those who can comprehend its intentions.
—Keyla Solo Fett teaches her daughter Syntha Fett the truth of the Force.
Keyla Solo Fett was a Force-sensitive Human female who joined the Knights of Ren and the First Order, before defecting from both to join the Bounty Hunters' Guild and Clan Fett and to live the rest of her life searching for bounty and raising her children with her bounty hunting partner and husband, Kassys Fett.
In 13 ABY, Keyla Solo was born as the daughter of smuggler Han Solo and his wife Sana Solo, and later became a follower of the Knights of Ren since the conception of her training in 28 ABY wherein she earned the name Fel Ren, but later abandoned the cause as well as the First Order altogether. During her time as a licensed bounty hunter in the Bounty Hunters' Guild, Fel was known under pseudonym Fallen, before eventually revealing her true identity, Keyla Solo, to the guild and gaining endless respect and loathing in the process. In that same year, Keyla met the son of Boba Fett, Kassys Fett, whom she later married and had two Force-sensitive children with: a daughter, Syntha Fett, and a son, Han Fett. Since their marriage, Keyla added her husband's surname to her own, so she was hence known as Keyla Solo Fett.
Biography[]
Early life (13 ABY–25 ABY)[]
Your father was a good-for-nothing smuggler who didn't amount to anything. Keyla Solo, promise me you will not follow in his footsteps.
—Sana Solo discusses her husband, Han Solo, to her daughter, Keyla Solo.
Born on the mining colony planet Burnin Konn in 13 ABY, she was raised by her independent mother when her father abandoned her approximately a month before Keyla's birth. Her father's abandonment left deep scars that would heavily influence her choices in the later years of her life.
Birth of a Dark Jedi[]
Disperse! Disperse! The First Order commands it!
—First Order stormtroopers respond to the commotion caused by the failed Resistance strike.
Once Keyla reached the age of twelve in 25 ABY, Keyla's mother became collateral damage when she was caught and killed in the crossfire of a Resistance plot gone wrong. Upon the realisation of her mother's death and the involvement of the Resistance, a group her father had once been affiliated with, Keyla's intense hatred for her father expanded and her hatred for the Resistance was spawned.
Footsteps of the father[]
Who am I? I am only the best smuggler in the Anoat sector, perhaps even the entire galaxy, and the certainly the most dangerous. If you turn your back on me, you turn your back on life.
—Keyla Solo to the potential traitors in her smuggling cell.
In the three years after her mother's death, Keyla resided in the markets of Burnin Konn and made a living off smuggling contraband across the Anoat sector. Keyla's missions across the Anoat sector were simplified with the use of the Force, a newly discovered power Keyla herself did not understand, but ultimately accepted due to its usefulness.
Weapon of a Jedi[]
You're telling me this is some forgotten lightsaber used by some forgotten Jedi Master in some forgotten war?
—Keyla questions the authenticity of the object the merchant is attempting to sell to her.
In 26 ABY, Keyla purchased a purple-bladed lightsaber once belonging to the great Jedi Master Mace Windu during the Clone Wars.
Fel Ren (25 ABY–33 ABY)[]
Recruitment of the dark side[]
The dark side is not a path; the dark side is a way of life. Are you ready to pledge your life to the dark side?
—A Knight of Ren explains the dark side of the Force to Keyla.
By the year 28 ABY, Keyla's uniquely powerful connection to the Force was detected by a group consisting of followers of the dark side of the Force, the Knights of Ren. When Keyla discovered the intentions of the Knights of Ren, she accepted their offer and spent the next two years of her life under heavy supervision and training of the Knights on the planet in the Outer Rim Territories, Stygeon Prime.
A new name for a new life[]
After the two years of intense training with the dark side of the Force, Keyla was knighted by the Knights of Ren and she assumed the new name "Fel Ren". Upon mastery of Jar'Kai, Keyla constructed two new lightsabers, though she did not want to discard her purchased lightsaber which represented her old life. Despite the heavy study of the dark side, Keyla's appearance was not heavily influenced; her brown eyes did not change to Sith yellow like most other users of the dark side of the Force as she still latched onto her past and was determined to not release it from her grasp.
Rise through the ranks[]
I hear she's the daughter of Darth Vader, raised since birth to take his place at the head of the First Order.
—A First Order stormtrooper discusses Fel Ren with another stormtrooper after a mission led by the discussed.
In 30 ABY, Fel was appointed to the First Order and received her first mission. Four years after the success of her first mission, Fel had risen through the ranks of both the Knights of Ren and the First Order, constructing a major reputation for herself through her undeniable warrior presence, starfighter expertise and strategic prowess, much so that she was acknowledged by the Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke, and served him personally from 32 ABY.
Crossroads[]
Fly to Kashyyyk...and kill the one they call Solo.
—Fel Ren receives her mission from Supreme Leader Snoke.
In 33 ABY, Fel was tasked with the assassination of Han Solo, a major figure of the Resistance. Fel's mind was fuelled with hatred and a lust for vengeance, veiling her mind from the true purpose of the mission: to test her loyalty to the First Order. Little did Fel know, Snoke was aware of her heritage and wanted to use this knowledge to his advantage, but first he had to be sure of her true intentions. During the early days of tracking her father, Fel was fiercely loyal to the cause of the First Order, but upon discovering her father on the planet of Kashyyyk, tending to the wounded, she developed a feeling she had not felt since she was a child with her mother: trust. With this new-found trust, Fel abandoned her mission, as well as the Knights of Ren and the First Order in the process.
Fallen (33 ABY–? ABY)[]
Another name, another path[]
During the same year as her defection from the Knights of Ren and the First Order, Fel was circumstantially caught in the middle of a bounty hunt; while in a bar on Kashyyyk, Fel was attacked by a Trandoshan, one of the targets of the bounty hunter son of Boba Fett, Kassys Fett. Fel was held hostage by the Trandoshan and Kassys didn't dare shoot as he did not want to injure Fel. Despite the Trandoshan's brute strength, Fel was able to manipulate the Force to push the Trandoshan from her and against the wall. Kassys was stunned by Fel's use of the Force, as it was a rare gift in this time, and was compelled to invite her to join the Bounty Hunters' Guild and to become his first and last partner. Fel accepted. When she was asked her name, Fel introduced herself as "Fallen", signifying a new path in her life: a new path of acceptance.
