Keri attended the prestigious Baltoji School of Nursing.
Hospital massacre[]
In 4 BBY Keri was working as a nurse at the Flisa Hospital. A normal day was interrupted by an ambulance bringing in a male Gran who had suffered a shot from a blaster. While the staff worked to save the injured being's life Keri made a call to the local authorities reporting the incident as was required by Imperial law. Thinking nothing of it she then returned to work.
About twenty minutes later an Imperial officer and a squad of stormtroopers arrived. The officer demanded to question the Gran explaining that he was a Rebel agent shot trying to escape the custody of the Empire. The attending doctor protested that the patient was in critical condition and had a very good chance of dying even with medical attention and that the patient surely would die if interrogated then and there.
The Imperial would hear none of it and the doctor would not budge saying "I don't care want regulations you throw at me. I took an oath to protect life and I won't let you kill a patient right in front of me and my staff." By then the officer was out of patience. He accused the doctor of being a Rebel collaborator and ordered him shoot the on the spot. A stormtrooper carried out the order before the doctor could shake off the shock.
At that point chaos erupted. Staff and patients ran screaming in all directions, the officer panicked and started shouting about being surrounded by Rebel agents while the stormtroopers began firing at anyone in sight. In the pandemonium Keri was knocked to the floor and knocked out.
When she awoke she was in the infirmary at the local Imperial HQ cuffed to a bed. The officer who'd started the slaughter had been claiming that the hospital was a hotbed of Rebel agents who'd attacked him and his men as they'd tried to capture a fleeing criminal. This was all lies, of course, but the Imperial propaganda makers loved it and so lies became truth and the officer was hailed as a hero who'd help end the lives of seventeen Rebels.
Keri herself was imprisoned for three months as the "investigation" was conducted. Imperial Intelligence knew they couldn't paint the whole staff of wrongdoing and Keri was lucky enough to one of those "cleared of all charges." Before being released from prison she was quietly told that it was her parents' status in the local medical community that had saved her and any word breathed about what really happened would result in dire consequences for Keri and her family.
Though furious at what had happened Keri was to afraid of Imperial wrath to do anything but agree.
Joining the Rebellion[]
Following the massacre at the Flisa Hospital a furious Keri knew that she could no longer stand on the sidelines and watch more innocent people be hurt and killed by the Empire. The Rebel Alliance was always on the lookout for medical personnel to bolster their ranks so it didn't take long for her to find an Alliance recruiter and formally join the Rebellion.
Investigating Vader[]
Their sole mission was to uncover any and all information about Darth Vader with his true identity being their top priority.
Mission to Mustafar[]
In 2 BBY Keri and the investigation team traveled to the fiery world of Mustafar. It was there that records showed that Vader was reputed to have slain Anakin Skywalker who considered to be one of the most powerful victims of the Great Jedi Purge.
Echo Base[]
During the pullout of the base Keri aided in evacuating the Rebels in Echo Bases infirmary. While helping the last of the patients and medical staff flee she stumbled across Taj Ateyll prone in a corridor. A piece of ice had fallen from the ceiling and knocked him unconscious as he'd been helping to evacuate some of the Alliance pilots. Keri secured help from Pharl McQuarrie in carrying Taj to the ship Bright Hope just before it took off.
