Kenth Hamner was a Jedi Master in the New Jedi Order. He was one of Luke Skywalker's first students. He served as a liaison between the Jedi and the New Republic military.

Military life[]
Hamner started his military life at a young age. He lied about his age to join the Rebel Alliance and fought in their ground army. He was present at the Battle of Hoth, but was not chosen for General Han Solo's ground force to Endor. During the Battle of Endor, he instead served as an emergency gunner aboard the medical ship Salvation.
Hamner was promoted to a Captain after the battle and led a squad on several missions. He was responsible for the military forces during the final assault against the Empire before a treaty was signed.
Jedi training[]
After the peace treaty between the New Republic and the Empire was signed, Hamner was approached by Luke Skywalker, who told him he had potential to be trained as a Jedi. Though he was initially leery, Hamner eventually agreed and resigned his commission to train at the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV.
