The Keaarglrs, or Keaarglral in their most common language, were one of the species of the planet Eniam. Their name and first language comes from the forested Kego region of Eniam. They lived mostly in the planet's forests. They were considered very bold hunters, and excellent tacticians, but not as patiently wise as the Drijokenleein or as stealthily witty as the Eniamos, Eniam's other primary sentients.

Biology[]

Like the other two species, the Keaarglrs' physical statistics were well suited to their habitat. Out of the three sentient species of Eniam, they tended to be the strongest and most dexterous. However, they were not as fast as the Eniamos and had less stamina than the Drijokens. Although they were larger than humans on average, they were far more monkey-like than ape-like. Keaarglrs' six-digit hands and feet were nearly identical, each with four regular fingers and an opposable thumb on each side. Their tails were also prehensile and very dexterous, but to a lesser degree than their arms and legs.

Before the technological soar after 1,138 BBY, Keaarglral usually lived to 67 Eniam years, or 37 standard years. Their diet usually consists of bark, pine needs, mushrooms, leaves, and small rodents, but they could eat a variety of other foods.

Keaarglral usually gave birth to one child at a time, but occasionally had twins or very rarely three or . They were very caring, protective parents, and young ones often kept close to family members even when they matured.

Society[]

If a Keaarglr went on a journey or expedition, his whole close family would come. Together the mother and the father would swing through trees, holding the children tight. If they had their young with them, they would either both hunt from range or take turns going in. There were few ground predators, but the Keaarglrs still liked to keep moving.

Most of the native trees had wood that was either too brittle or too flexible to give support for long. Therefore, the Keaarglral dwelled on the dirt forest floor, using the trees and vines for rapid travel. They used leaves and soft wood to make their mud huts comfortable. They had full coverings of fur and wore very little clothing, usually only hunting shoes if any.

Jobs were either simple or virtually non-existant. All Keaarglral were taught how to built and maintain their homes, swing on branches, and hunt. In some communities, Keaarglrs excelled at certain professions and helped others, but they were usually versatile, dabbling workers.

Pre-Alliance[]

The Keaarglral were quite intelligent, but they lacked the metals and minerals essential for Drijoken-level technology. They did develope very clever traps and hunting tools from what they did have. Rope was easily made from the soft, spongy wood of the Dirquwn tree. Dirquwn wood could also be used for stealthy hunting shoes.

The Eniamos, who had full control of Eniam then, considered them primitive and did not allow them government control for many years. Finally, in 1,138 BBY, the Keaarglrs united with the Drijoken. Some Keaarglral and Drijoken called for war, but eventually peace prevailed. Via negotiation they soon got desired control with the foundation of the Eniam United Trispecial Republic.

Union[]

With the races united, the Keaarglrs got access to vital metals, and technology and society soared. They learned how to build boilers and forges. Aircraft were invented, first fashioned of wood, grass, and leather, and then of light metals. Eniam grass was extremely flammable. It was strong enough to power planes.

Meanwhile, the New Sith Wars were raging across the galaxy. In a space battle over Eniam, several small starships crashed into the planet's surface. All the crashes were completely fatal to passengers and pilots, but a few of the ships were quite intact. The Eniam natives, as they were now proud to be known collectively as, learned the secrets of the sublight engine and the hyperdrive. They discovered the resources needed to reproduce the newly-discovered source of power right on their own planet. They also developed simple computers.

Upon developing their own starships sending scouts into the galaxy, the Eniam natives discovered the size of the war. Most scouts returned to Eniam and tried to keep the planet a secret.

Rise of the Empire[]

Many years later, late in 23 BBY, the Eniam eventually sought representation in the Republic. Eniam starships became known to the Galaxy as an obscure, but pleasant to fly, design. However they were only to soon see another war erupt. Eniam was spared the horrors of the Clone Wars, but as the Republic became an Empire, the Keaarglrs, along with Eniam's other races, were rounded up to become slaves. A few stayed hidden on their world.

Soon after fall of the Empire in 4 ABY, Eniam gained representation in the New Republic. Unfortunately, the Empire's slavery had severely decreased the poplution of the planet. In 16 ABY, the natives of Eniam decided they could do without integration with the rest of the Galaxy, and retired to only their own planet.
