Early life[]
It is currently unknown where Kai was born, and who his relatives are. When he was one year old he was given to Jedi Knights Kento and Mallie Marek, who were hiding on Kashyyyk with their son, Galen. When Darth Vader defeated and killed Kento and took Galen, Kai was hiding and has since vowed that he would find his brother again and save him.
