Julius Khait was a Human male who served as a colonel in the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire.[2] He commanded the 105th Stormtrooper Regiment throughout his service, which he kept up in fighting shape with his training regimen. A native of Carida, he attended the military academy there in 19 BBY, performing well and graduating with the rank of senior lieutenant. Throughout his career, Khait proved to be a good field commander, but talked back to officers and questioned their planning at times. This became more evident when he even did so to Darth Vader, and other officers began to make bets on how long before Khait was killed by the Dark Lord. However, Vader liked Khait's bluntness, in contrast to the other officers, who often lied to please him. The stormtrooper became one of the few Imperial officers to earn Vader's respect.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Julius Khait is named after a Red Army composer who lived around the time of World War II, creating the song Aviamarch, anthem of the Soviet Air Force. It is a song that the author likes. The author heavily based the character on Daine Jir, a canon stormtrooper commander. He intended for the character to essentially take Jir's place in his fanon universe, thinking that Jir was an interesting character and wanting to expand on his story.
