Rise of the Empire era

Jlium Fode was a female Tiallan smuggler and salvager.

Biography[]

Born on Etzo Thokos in 146 BBY, Fode was the daughter of Councilor Rafu Shloon and his mistress, Nannta Fode. At a young age, she was sent to a boarding school on Nubia where she would spend most of her childhood and teen years. As a teenager, she befriended a Snivvian youth named Birea Chazuiar who introduced her to numerous juvenile delinquents in Rordis City. The two would often sneak off the school grounds without permission to socialize with the troublesome youths. In 131 BBY, the corpse of a wealthy Koorivar youth named Bassan Pafoosal was discovered in Fode's dormitory. She and Chazuiar were blamed and the two frightened girls ran away from the school. Chazuiar managed to access her account and take several thousand credits before the authorities closed it. Then she hired a Bimm smuggler named Vedoat Tullivor to take them to Pil Diller, her father's homeworld.

Fode lived with the Chazuiars until 128 BBY when Hazriss, a Gand who had been among her hooligan associates on Nubia, asked her to him smuggle a small load of Quella gems to Neftali. Her part of the job was to get them past any nosy authorities by pretending to be Camili Boont, a well-known Tiallan Jedi Knight. They flew with Captain Bleedo Vippe, a Rodian smuggler and bounty hunter from Yaga Minor. After they reached Neftali, Vippe betrayed the two young sentients to a Minyavish slaver who shot the Rodian in the back as he walked away. The slaver took them to Omman Minor to sell them to a Sepori noble. However, the sale was interrupted by none other than Camili Boont, the Jedi Fode had been impersonating. Boont had been studying the movements of a Cerean insurrectionist and self-proclaimed king of the galaxy named Mundili Jakroth in the Kiblini sector when she learned Fode had been using her identity.

During the rescue, Hazriss killed the slaver and attempted to kill the noble but was stopped by Boont. Fode managed to escape into the streets of Omman Center. After hiding for several days without eating or drinking, she attempted swipe food from a Cracian vendor. He pulled a blaster on her but she pushed over his stand, causing him to look away before he shot and he missed her. Instead of running, she attacked him but a nearby Mazamoof broke up the fight. She was thrown into jail for several days. After being released, she persuaded a Jillsarian smuggler named Orzent to add her to his crew aboard the Potent Portion. She smuggled with him until he was killed in a gunfight on Seikosha in 119 BBY.

Inheriting the Portion, she decided to become a salvager and eventually became a crew chief and hiring numerous employees to help her recover objects of value. In 50 BBY, an Ossa named Gool Enlorbi joined her crew and worked for her for a year before starting off on his own. They remained friends until 44 BBY when he convinced one of her most promising salvagers, Selun T. H. Oonba, to join his crew. During the Clone Wars she sold most of what she recovered to the Galactic Republic war effort, although she never accepted any contracts from them. After the war, she retired to Blackdot, where she died of old age in 4 BBY.
