Jextar Cyern-Star also known as Jex was a Drakonus/Firrerreo halfbreed, who was born in 37 ABY on Nar Shaddaa, but was raised on Naboo. He was sent to the Jedi Temple at a young age, as he was Force-sensitive. After he became a Jedi, he seldom visited his home planet.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Jextar was born on Nar Shaddaa to Jadian Star and Jevan Cyern. The young halfbreed was gifted in the Force from a young age. Being raised for a brief time on Naboo, he was sent off to the Coruscant Jedi Temple by his mother in hopes of him not taking the same path that she had. Even as a young learner it was apparent that he had skills in the Force and he quickly learned to balance his talents out between the mental and the physical aspects of the Force. At the age of eight he was chosen to be the Padawan of Jedi Master Tarek Kurn. They traveled throughout the galaxy, going from Ossus to Nar Shaddaa and Naboo, along with many other worlds. It was rare that Jextar visited his home for many reasons. One, his mother did not want the boy exposed to the business that she had taken up. The other reason was that Jade lived with Ye'keb Millennium who had a child with Sith Lord Tak Sakaros. From a young age Jextar had been taken with the girl, Rin Sakaros. Not wanting to let the Jedi know of the other child and not wanting to have a war on Naboo once again, Jade had been forced to keep Jextar at a distance. This did not harm the boy though, in fact, it only deepened his dedication to the Force. In fact, his fondness of Rin had caused him to want to climb the ranks even faster and he stopped going home to visit altogether. This choice would later haunt the young man after his mother and step-father were attacked by a small group of slavers and the last of his known people were destroyed. With his mother missing and his step-father presumed dead Jextar was forced to recenter himself, making the Coruscant Temple his home and taking his studies up with a fierce passion.
Jedi Knight[]
Some years after he was Knighted Jextar took a young Nikto as his Padawan. Her name was Moira Sappan and it was with him that she traveled to Ossus to see the way that things were taught at another Temple. In time, when the girl was Knighted and Jextar a Master, Moira would teach healing techniques on Ossus up until its fall.
In 129 ABY, Jextar became the head of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Having been taught mainly that of the old ways, the young man had to adjust greatly in order to win the position. In 130 ABY, the Massacre at Ossus occurred and Jextar was forced to handle the situation. Dealing with the loss of many Master's as well as the last of the known Skywalker line he assumed full responsibility with pulling the order more tightly together so that they could fight and defeat Krayt's One Sith.
Years later the young man was accidentally reunited with Rin Sakaros after he had received word from Jedi Master Souv Tanake that his mother had been relocated and was on planet. The young man had rushed out to his birth planet to see his mother when he sensed a strong presence in the Force. It was by following the feeling in the Force that he found its owner. Having not seen the woman in decades he found himself still incredibly attracted to her.
