Destruction of Greedin base showed us one thing it did. Relentless are the Sith, destroy us they will
— Master Yyral to Jedi Knight Jarn Durandu after the Battle of Destudii
The Jedi Wars, also known as the New Republic-Korribanite Empire Wars, was an ongoing war of the Jedi and the Mandalorians against another attempt of Sith domination between 78,162 ABY and 78,164 ABY. It defined the end of the Korriban Empire era, although the Sith Empire of Korriban and Liberated Systems did not fade during this time.
Outcome[]
Origins[]
Although not directly part of the conflict, the murder of Jedi Master Mandon Durandu by the Sith is a major event that undeniably led to the Jedi Wars.
The fragility of the New Republic and the Mandalore Alliance after the Second Mandalorian War, and the eternal feud between the Jedi Order and the Sith are what ultimately led to the conflict.
Attack on Greedin[]
Main article: Siege of Greedin
The Sith made the first decisive move of the conflict when they obtained intelligence of a strategic Republic base on the planet Greedin, which had been in operation for approximately seventeen years. Under the command of Lurall Virceii, the Sith dispatched a powerful fleet to destroy the base and strike a critical blow to the Republic.
The Sith fleet was led by Commander Lurall Virceii, an experienced Sith commander, and the frigates in Greedin space were immediately besieged upon the Sith arrival. The Jedi armada moved to repel the attack, and a space battle ensued, before the Sith harrowed the Jedi onto the planet's service.
From here, the Sith force began their attack of Greedin Base, and the few Jedi stationed at the base struggled to repel the superior force, while battling Sith Acolytes.
The timely arrival of Jarn Durandu won the Jedi the day, repelling the Sith strikeforce, although the damage had already been dealt, and Greedin Base was rendered obsolete.
The Ebyon Campaign[]

Following their attack on Greedin, the Sith retreated from the Greedin system at the urging of Darth Drakenaereus, while the Jedi regrouped and prepared for the Sith to strike again. There occurred just under a year of no conflict, before a contingent of Sith under the command of Drakenaereus' apprentice, Darth Salidius, commenced a full scale blockade of the Ebyon system.
The Jedi dispatched Jarn Durandu and several Tarisian Military Corps contingents to intervene. The flagships, Salidius' Sith Kratos cruiser and Jarn's Class C 99FF-O8 Battle Ship the Aleon Prime engaged in heavy crossfire while the Sith Battlespyre and Tarisian ACs battled through the system, destroying each other in dogfights.
The cruiser was heavily damaged by the Class C 99FF-O8 Battle Ship's firepower, which allowed Durandu and his contingent to board the vessel and take control of it, during which Jarn and Darth Salidius engaged in a short lightsaber duel. Salidius was defeated and locked back on board the Class C 99FF-O8 Battle Ship, while the Jedi forces destroyed any remaining Sith vessels in the system.
One of the Shade Heavy Fighters, with at least eighteen Sith soldiers on board, managed to escape onto the surface of Ebyon VI, where they regrouped with Darth Salidius, having escaped the Class C 99FF-O8 Battle Ship via escape pod. Jarn Durandu and his forces arrived on Ebyon VI shortly after crushing the blockade, in pursuit of Salidius and the Sith soldiers.
A major battle of the Jedi Wars followed, with the Jedi and Ebyon soldiers clashing with the Sith vanguard while Jarn Durandu and Darth Salidius dueled all over the tower before them. Jarn summoned immense power in the Force and his skill allowed him to defeat Salidius, by which time the Jedi and Ebyon forces had destroyed the Sith remnants.
At the urging of Jedi Master Dagaros Virethi, Durandu returned to Taris but with a significant Sith presence still threatening the Ebyon system the Republic sent General Crantus Levoncro to defend it. Levoncro was victorious in repelling the Sith invasion and liberating the Ebyon Federation; with a lasting alliance forged between the New Republic and Federation.
Mandalorian Involvement and Defeat on Meraldii III[]
Main article: Battle of Meraldii III
With the Sith presence in the Ebyon system successfully expelled by the Jedi and Republic, the leaders of the Republic, the Jedi Council from Cindoris V and the Mandalore Kharon Ordo; who had succeeded his ancestor Zandous Ordo, met to decide the next move against the Sith Empire.
The Dark Lord Drakenareus, weakened by the defeat in Ebyon and the death of Darth Salidius, took matters into his own hands, assembling a massive fleet on Korriban, and located to Meraldii III. The force on Ebyon V was alerted of the Sith presence on the planet and moved offworld to intervene. They rendezvoused with a Mandalorian force en route to Meraldii, but even with their bolstered force the Jedi were walking into a death trap.
The Sith fleet surrounded Meraldii III and obliterated much of the Jedi strikeforce, whereafter the battle moved onto the surface. The Jedi took a strategic position and successfully repelled the Sith for a few hours, before the Dark Lord himself joined the battle and ravaged the Jedi and Mandalorians, killing their esteemed commander Crantus Levoncro. The Jedi's attempt to protect Meraldii III had failed, the Sith absorbed it into their empire. Meanwhile another Sith force had entrenched themselves on Annith, and a large Jedi contingent lead by Alanna Durandu was dispatched to invade Annith and displace the Sith.
Invasion of Annith[]
Main article: Invasion of Annith
Following their defeat on Meraldii III, the Jedi and the Mandalorians regrouped and joined up with a larger force dispatched from Taris under Alanna Durandu. The Sith, lead by Commander Lurall Virceii, where entrenched on the planet of Annith, and a large battle ensued on the surface. Both commanders engaged in furious battle, but Alanna's Jedi skills proved to powerful for Virceii to combat and he was destroyed, as was the Sith presence on Annith.
Following the Invasion of Annith, Elanna's transport was attacked by a Sith Kratos cruiser, known as the Revenant. The Revenant was Darth Drakenaereus' personal cruiser, and despite her fight he captured her and slaughtered her bodyguards.
Rebellions on Syst and Styaros VII[]
Main article: Siege of Syst
Following the loss of their colony on Annith, the Sith Empire withdrew and a stalemate ensued between the combatants. It was during this time Darth Drakenaereus tortured Elanna Durandu, twisting her to the Dark Side with memories of her parents' deaths. The Republic-Mandalorian Alliance sought to strike a tactical blow to the Sith by targeting oppressed planets in the Outer Rim, namely Syst and Styaros VII.
The Sith garrison on Syst was under the command of General Ansyth Korvin were caught off guard by the joint Republic and Mandalorian strike force deployed to Syst. Concurrently, the Systian Federation led by Advaros Greyn began a large scale insurrection. The resultant rebellion was aided by the Republic attack on the Sith, with the reclamation of the major city, Col Systa, signifying the end of the Sith occupation of Syst. General Ansyth Korvin was defeated in single combat by Advaros Greyn, who eventually became the leader of the reclaimed Systian Federation. The New Republic and Federation later signed an alliance, with the Syst benefitting greatly in the following decades from their Republic alliance.
Main article: Battle of Styaros VII Buoyed by their successful liberation of Syst, the Jedi led by Jarn Durandu regrouped and attempted to liberate Styaros VII, another Sith oppressed planet. Even with some help from the native Stympogians, the battle of Styaros VII was a tough fought one for the Jedi and Mandalorians, with the Sith defence fierce. They were eventually ousted off the planet with Durandu's leadership and the planet joined in alliance with the New Republic.
The War's End[]
Main article: Battle of Destudii
With Elanna Durandu moulded into his new Sith apprentice, Darth Drakenaereus dispatched her to destroy a Jedi enclave on Alvuron. The unnamed Jedi on this planet were all killed by Durandu and the enclave destroyed, continuing her path to becoming a Sith. When Jarn Durandu learnt of his sister's betrayal, he was elected by the Jedi Council to deploy a task force and target the Sith on the planet of Destudii, where they had entrenched themselves to further branch out and conquer. Jarn was joined by fellow Jedi Dagaros Virethi, along with a vast army of Jedi and Tarisian Military Corps soldiers.
The battle commenced on the surface, with Virethi attempting to duel Drakenaereus, while Jarn tried to reason with his sister. He defeated her in combat, but she pleaded with him to end her life for her betrayal. He refused, and Drakenaereus, who had incapacitated Virethi, scolded her for her weakness and killed her with Force lighting. Driven by rage and vengeance, Jarn danced closely to the Dark Side as he dueled with Drakenaereus, much to the Sith Lord's enjoyment. After a long duel Jarn cast Drakenaereus' lightsaber aside and decapitated him, ending his reign and the Jedi Wars.
Aftermath[]
New Republic and Jedi Order[]
The Jedi Wars resulted in significant loss of life for the New Republic and the deaths of Elanna Durandu and Crantus Levoncro. Despite these losses lasting alliances were formed with the Ebyon Federation, Syt Federation and Styaros VII that led to prosperous ties in the resulting decades. The Republic and Jedi Order were not involved in another galactic conflict for fifteen years, when they became entangled in the Wookiee-Trandoshan War.
Sith Empire[]
The defeat for the Sith signalled the end of Darth Drakenaereus' reign and a period of dormancy for the Sith Empire. Though their loss of planets and defeat of the Dark Lord crippled them somewhat, they still maintained a stranglehold on dozens of planets in the aftermath of the war. Darth Ithericus, a Chagrian Sith, succeeded Drakenaereus as Dark Lord.
