The Jedi Head of State was an advisor and assistant to the Republic Remnant of the Republic Remnant. It was designed to be a sort of way to keep the Jedi satisfied that the politicians didn't do everything, but did little in reality. The Jedi Head of State had power, but little influence. Most of the time, Jedi Heads of State were not even around.
Appointment of the Jedi Head of State[]
The Republic Remnant Jedi Council decided who was to be Jedi Head of State, voting within themselves. The public and non-Jedi had no influence in the choice. The Jedi Council also chose when to re-elect a new Jedi Head of State.
Powers and Functions[]
The Jedi Head of State's main purpose was to fill the gaps between politics and the Jedi. It was partly successful. The JHS was also responsible for decisions that were too low of importance for the Chancellor, but high enough for a person of considerable power. The JHS was a Vice President, of sorts.
