Jedaana Lokka was a Force-sensitive Rutian Twi'lek female Jedi Padawan and survivor of Order 66. Born on the remote desert planet Ravar, Jedaana Lokka was found by the Jedi Order and brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant at an early age for training. Master Jon Ternath took Jedaana Lokka as his Padawan, and she became a Jedi Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic's 96th Legion during the Clone Wars.
The first major battle Lokka took part in was the Battle of Zanjurro, where she lost many of the clone troopers under her command to Confederate Marshal General Yosip Zagoonga's forces. Lokka again lost to Zagoonga during the Battle of Jakol. During the Battle of Foless, Jedaana Lokka learned from her past mistakes as a military commander to help achieve a decisive Republic victory. She subsequently participated in Operation Armbreaker, a large-scale offensive that Separatists to the Outer Rim.
During the final year of the war, Lokka and Ternath attempted to hunt down Yosip Zagoonga, finally confronting him at the Battle of Lagobah. However, the Great Jedi Purge began during the battle with Order 66, resulting in the death of Master Ternath. Lokka and Zagoonga reluctantly formed an alliance to survive against the clone troopers and make it to the surface of Lagobah.
Jedaana Lokka, Yosip Zagoonga, and others later established the Lagobah rebel cell to resist the Galactic Empire's expanding control of the galaxy. Lokka also later adopted a Force-sensitive Twi'lek girl named Allaya after rescuing her from a slave ship, planning to train her to become a Jedi. A few years later, the Inquisitorius dispatched the Eleventh Sister to hunt down Jedaana Lokka after discovering that she was alive. During the Battle of Yoivasca, Jedaana Lokka infiltrated the Imperial superweapon Calamity to destroy it. She defeated the Eleventh Sister and escaped the ship just before it exploded, going to Yoivasca, where she subsequently decided to stay and was presumed dead.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Jedaana Lokka was born in 36 BBY on the Outer Rim Territories planet Ravar to Twi'lek parents that had fled slavery. Ravar was a very unremarkable planet, being located on the edge of inhabited space and lacking any large settlements or valuable resources, although this did not prevent a Jedi seeker from finding Lokka when she was two standard years old. Jedaana Lokka was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and trained as a Jedi youngling.
Like all other younglings of the Jedi Order, Jedaana Lokka eventually traveled on the Crucible to the sacred Jedi world of Ilum. She acquired a blue kyber crystal and used it to fabricate her single-bladed lightsaber.
In 23 BBY, during the Separatist Crisis, Jedaana Lokka reached the rank of Padawan and became the apprentice of Human Jedi Master Jon Ternath. She also received an astromech droid, R3-F7, who would frequently accompany Lokka for the next few years.
Clone Wars begins[]
After the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Master Ternath was appointed as Jedi General of the 96th Legion in the Grand Army of the Republic, and Jedaana Lokka therefore became a Jedi Commander with powers over a regiment of 2,304 clone troopers despite her young age and lack of military experience. The 96th Legion was part of a Republic Sector Army that operated in the southern quadrants of the galaxy, so Lokka would spend most of the war there. Jedaana Lokka believed that she was fighting against the Confederacy of Independent Systems for freedom, peace, and justice in the galaxy, and did not care about the Separatist perspective.
Battle of Zanjurro[]
Several weeks after the First Battle of Geonosis, the 96th Legion was dispatched to Zanjurro and deployed from the Acclamator-class assault ship Intrepid. Along with the 79th Armored Division, the 96th Legion besieged Etosh City, which was being fiercely defended by the Separatist-aligned Frenzanian Royal Expeditionary Legion. The city was completely walled and located in the middle of a salt flat, making it difficult to attack without sustaining high casualties. During the Battle of Zanjurro, the Frenzanians held out long enough for Marshal General Yosip Zagoonga to arrive with Task Group Xeron and Army Group FZM.
Zagoonga deployed his army using landing craft, so most of the Republic forces including Jedaana Lokka moved to engage the incoming Separatist battle droids and vehicles. Lokka personally commanded an HAVw A6 Juggernaut in the battle against the Confederate mechanized formation. While her tank managed to destroy some droid vehicles, the Separatists had several TMAV-28 super-heavy tanks, which were even larger than Republic Juggernauts. Lokka commanded her Juggernaut and the entire regiment under her command to engage one of the massive enemy tanks.
However, she then witnessed Jedi Master Ropar Unmaro's HAVw A6 being annihilated by a Frenzanian landship, so Lokka decided to turn back. Multiple TMAV-28s then unleashed a barrage of missiles that destroyed most of the vehicles in Lokka's regiment. The Separatist battle droids then moved in on her troops and killed many of them. Jedaana Lokka and the forces under her command suffered heavy casualties but were able to make it back to the Intrepid and escape Zanjurro. Lokka regretted many decisions she had made during the battle and felt that she had failed her troops.
Battle of Jakol[]
In 21 BBY, the 96th Legion was deployed to Jakol, an Inner Rim junk planet. There, General Zagoonga launched an invasion, beginning the Battle of Jakol. The 96th Legion was tasked with defending the metropolitan area of Polura, one of the planet's largest cities. Lokka's forces were located in the scrapyards south of the city. They soon came under attack by large numbers of battle droid forces, through Lokka and her troopers were initially able to hold out. Believing Lokka to be foolish, Zagoonga ordered his forces to do a false retreat despite having a significant numerical advantage.
Instead of maintaining her position as instructed by General Ternath, Commander Lokka pursued the droid forces. Her clone troopers were ambushed and suffered heavy losses, so Lokka order a full retreat into the city. The other perimeters around Polura were broken over the next few days and the 96th Legion began to become encircled. They would eventually be rescued by the Intrepid again and retreated from Jakol in defeat once more.
Battle of Foless[]
Marshal General Zagoonga later attacked the urban Colonies planet of Foless, beginning the Battle of Foless. Zagoonga had been successful for a while against the Republic, winning a majority of battles, and he planned on capturing the strategic planet to establish a Separatist foothold closer to the Core. Jedaana Lokka used lessons she had learned from her two previous defeats to inflict heavy casualties on droid forces while her own troopers had minimal losses. The battle lasted multiple weeks, but the Republic was eventually able to gain a significant advantage on the ground, forcing off the Separatist forces and resulting in a major Republic victory.
Operation Armbreaker[]
Following the major Republic victory at Foless, Republic military leaders began a plan to push Zagoonga back into the Outer Rim. Jedaana proposed that the name of the offensive be "Operation Armbreaker", as she intended to metaphorically and literally break all four of the Frenzanian's arms. The operation was spearheaded by the 96th Legion, who were very successful, winning almost every battle and retaking numerous star systems in the galaxy's southern quadrants.
Battle for Felinia[]
In 20 BBY, the 96th Legion was part of a large Republic force sent to Felinia in the Mid Rim. The Battle for Felinia had already been going on for two years by that point, with the Felinians under siege from Separatist forces led by General Schkakerro. Jedaana Lokka participated in the brutal ground battle, taking heavy casualties but managing to make gains against the CIS. She assisted in the destruction of several battle droid factories on the planet, accelerating the Republic advance.
At the end of the battle, the 96th Legion attacked Schkakerro's command fortress on Felinia. They managed to breach the base, but General Ternath was captured by Schkakerro. With him out of action, Commander Lokka was now in charge of the legion. She ordered her clone troopers to not fire on the Gozanti-class cruiser that her Master had been taken on. Instead, she led a pursuit of the ship with several LAAT gunships. Lokka and several clone jetpack troopers jumped from the gunships to the Gozanti cruiser and got inside. There, Lokka freed Ternath but they were attacked by some of Schkakerro's assassins. To execute their trap, the assassins lured the two Jedi to the cargo bay, which was then opened, sucking them all out. Lokka and Ternath both survived, using their Force powers to successfully land on the gunships. However, they failed to neutralize Schkakerro, who escaped the system.
End of the war[]
Battle of Hosnian Prime[]
After Operation Armbreaker ended, the Outer Rim Sieges began, where the CIS was pushed to the brink at their remaining territory in the Outer Rim. However, the Separatists eventually began a major counteroffensive, and General Zagoonga was part of it. He managed to get a sizeable fleet all the way to Hosnian Prime in the Core Worlds, beginning the Battle of Hosnian Prime. The 96th Legion quickly arrived to oppose the invasion, although the battle ended up lasting multiple weeks.
A strike team consisting of Lokka, her master, and several clone troopers was eventually assembled to infiltrate Zagoonga's flagship, the Queen of Independence. They planted several thermal detonators on the main reactor, but the super tactical droid Porax arrived to stop them. The tactical droid was unsuccessful however, as he was cut down by Jedaana. They left the ship and detonated the explosives, blowing up Zagoonga's prized Lucrehulk-class Battleship. General Zagoonga was on the surface of Hosnian Prime during the infiltration, and he decided to withdraw in disgrace after witnessing the destruction of his ship.
Battle of Lagobah[]
Following another Republic victory at the Siege of Quadan VI and the far more decisive Battle of Coruscant, it was apparent that the war was almost over, but Jedaana was still eager to end the fight with General Zagoonga. It was discovered that he was present at Lagobah with only three ships, so the 96th Legion took three Venator-class Star Destroyers to fight him for the last time. During the Battle of Lagobah, General Zagoonga's ship Pride of Frenzan unexpectedly attacked the Persistence, disabling its shields and forcefully docking. Jedaana Lokka, Jon Ternath, and many clones then repelled a droid boarding party and boarded Zagoonga's destroyer so that they could finally capture or kill him.
The two Jedi eventually encountered General Zagoonga, who fought them with an electrostaff and two IG-100 MagnaGuards. The Jedi managed to destroy his MagnaGuards, although Zagoonga proved to be a very skilled duelist despite not being a force user. Before they could defeat him however, Darth Sidious executed Order 66 and the clone troopers Jedaana had trusted for so long fired on them. Master Ternath was able to briefly hold them off, but he quickly succumbed to the clone blaster fire. Just before they killed Lokka however, Zagoonga saved her life by killing a few clones. The two enemies very reluctantly formed an alliance to survive and made it to an escape pod, getting off just before the ship was destroyed. They made it to the surface of Lagobah safely and fled the crash site so that no evidence of them was found.
Imperial Era[]
Jedaana Lokka decided to remain with Yosip Zagoonga, as the Jedi Order was gone and the clone troopers she once led in so many battles would now kill her on sight. Lokka originally hated Zagoonga, but after he saved her life and they had spent some time together, they stayed together and found an abandoned Separatist sympathizer base on Lagobah. They then established the Lagobah rebel cell to fight the nascent Galactic Empire, and were later joined by several Republic pilots with three ARC-170s and the Sullustan former privateer Dendron Narr with his C-ROC Gozanti-class light cruiser Magma Raider
On a mission to Jakol some time later, Jedaana Lokka discovered the same Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor she flew during the later stages of the Clone Wars and reunited with her droid R3-F7.
Adopting a daughter[]
In 18 BBY, a ship was detected in the Lagobah system by the Lagobah cell base's long-range scanners. Upon closer investigation, they discovered that it was a YV-865 Aurore-class freighter. After the vessel refused to identify itself, the Lagobah rebels attacked with the Magma Raider and their ARC-170s, disabling the ship. They then boarded to discover a few Zygerrians holding numerous slaves hostage. However, Jedaana Lokka was able to pull their weapons out of their arms, and the angry slaves then rose up to attack and kill the Zygerrians. Jedaana sensed that one of the slaves was Force-sensitive and realized that it was a Rutian Twi'lek girl only about two years old. The other slaves told the rebels that many of them came from Quadan VI and that the girl's name was Allaya.
Jedaana Lokka knew that it was no coincidence that she found the Force-sensitive girl and rather the will of the Force, so she adopted Allaya as her daughter despite the Jedi's rule against family attachments and began to train her as a Jedi, hoping that there would still be a future for the Jedi.
Discovery by the Inquisitorious[]
The Inquisitorius eventually became aware of a Twi'lek Jedi spotted in parts of the Western Reaches. Identifying her as Jedaana Lokka, who was listed as a potential survivor of Order 66, the Inquisitorius sent the Eleventh Sister after Lokka, to turn her to the dark side if possible and kill her otherwise. Fortunately for Jedaana however, the Inquisitors were not aware of Allaya.
Battle of Yoivasca[]
In 15 BBY, the Lagobah rebel cell intercepted an Imperial transmission, discovering that the Empire was going to attack Gilan Kirkaag's fleet at Yoivasca, and that two "special weapons" would be used to ensure complete destruction. The Lagobah rebels decided to go to Yoivasca, where they met with Admiral Kirkaag in his Providence-class Dreadnought Trident and informed him of this. Although Kirkaag refused to leave and wanted to make his final stand against the Empire, the Lagobah cell would stay and help him defeat Imperial forces.
The Empire soon arrived with a massive fleet of the Onager-class Star Destroyer Calamity, five Imperial I-class Star Destroyers, four Venator-class Star Destroyers, three Victory-class Star Destroyers, two Gladiator-class Star Destroyers, a Detainer CC-2200, and many smaller ships, beginning the Battle of Yoivasca. No one recognized the Onager-class ship, but it appeared to be a superweapon and fired at one of Kirkaag's Lucrehulk-class Battleships, annihilating it in one shot. Kirkaag's fleet then moved in to attack so that the Calamity would be forced to reposition itself. The space battle raged on for a while, but the Calamity eventually reached a safe distance and fired again, destroying the other Lucrehulk-class.
Jedaana Lokka then used her Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor to get into the hangar of the Calamity, where she planned to destroy the vessel from the inside before it could cause more devastation. Sensing distressed kyber crystals within the ship, Lokka determined that they were what was powering the main weapon. She fought her way through many stormtroopers and encountered several Purge Troopers, whom she all managed to defeat. Upon reaching the kyber crystals, Jedaana Lokka was attacked by the Eleventh Sister.
Lokka dueled the Inquisitor and eventually discovered that she her former friend in the Jedi Order. Jedaana attempted to persuade the Eleventh Sister to stop working for the Empire, but she was unsuccessful and this only aggravated the Eleventh Sister. The Inquisitor threw her double-bladed spinning lightsaber at Lokka but missed, instead damaging the kyber crystals. Realizing that the Calamity would be obliterated the next time it fired, she ran from the Eleventh Sister and told R3-F7 to leave with the Jedi interceptor. Jedaana reached an escape pod just as the Calamity fired, overloading the kyber crystals and causing a massive explosion. She ejected the pod, but it was damaged and nearly destroyed, plummeting to the surface of Lagobah with the wreckage of the Calamity.
Life on Yoivasca[]
Jedaana Lokka landed on the surface of Yoivasca, a nearly uninhabited beautiful green world. After considerable thought, Lokka made the difficult decision to remain on Yoivasca and not attempt to rejoin her daughter and the rest of the Lagobah cell, fearing that she would be threatening everyone's life by coming back. She entrusting Yosip Zagoonga to raise Allaya, even though she would never become a Jedi. Jedaana did not plan to give up her connection to the Force however, noticing that Yoivasca appeared to have a strong connection to the Force.
She was presumed dead by both the Lagobah rebel cell and the Inquisitorius.
Personality and traits[]
A female Twi'lek, Jedaana Lokka had blue skin, brown eyes, and when she was eighteen stood at 1.78 meters tall and weighed seventy kilograms. At the beginning of the Clone Wars she was brave and kind-hearted yet also reckless and impulsive. Over the course of the war and with guidance from her Master, she learned to make intelligent decisions based more on reasoning than emotion. Despite initially following the ideals of the Jedi, Lokka developed stronger attachments to others following Order 66, and even considered Allaya her daughter, something which the Jedi would never have approved of.
Skills and abilities[]
Jedaana Lokka was very athletic and agile, and was regarded as being highly skilled in lightsaber combat, using a modified version of Form VI and later also using Jar'Kai, the method of utilizing two lightsabers at once. Her Force powers were not as impressive, though she was still skilled in telekinesis like most Jedi, could use Force sense, and animal kinship.
Equipment[]
Jedaana Lokka's weapon was a single-bladed blue lightsaber, although when she was a Padawan she made another blue lightsaber to dual wield. Like other Jedi she originally wore brown robes, however in her teenage years she switched to an outfit inspired by that of Aayla Secura. This consisted of a brown Twi'lek headdress, brassiere, pants, and a black cape.
