Sometime around the outbreak of the Kedd'ej War, a school of the Force was founded by Janarus Duur.
An academic bastion for those seeking to understand and control their connection to the Force from under the watch of the New Jedi Order and Imperial Knights. They were considered Gray, as they did not hold a strict following of the light side or dark side of the Force. Students were, however, encouraged to use their abilities for the betterment of society and in that they served the Force.
Those who completed their initial training or were deemed capable enough, were allowed to set out on their own. Some took to calling themselves "Rangers". Rangers who took on an apprentice were given the nominal title of Mentor.
