Jain Hayledea (pronounced /ʤeɪn heɪleɪdɪə/) was a male Human Jedi Master, diplomat and war hero who served the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order, becoming the Order's Barsen'thor, a Jedi High Councilor and later the Order's Grand Master.
Jain Hayledea and his identical twin brother Jensen were born in 3661 BBY in Hanna City, Chandrila as the sons of of the Calian Gabriel Hayledea and the Chandrilan Johanna Hayledea. Exhibiting Force-sensitivity from infancy, Jain and Jensen were given up by their parents and inducted into the Jedi Order a few months after their birth. Jain was raised by the Jedi Order and was eventually sorted into the Heliost Clan, becoming apprenticed to the Mirialan Jedi Master Kelsang Vipassana at the age of eight. Possessing enormous strength in the Force even as a child and being a diligent and obedient studient, from the age of 14 Jain was offered several times the chance to become a Jedi Knight, but he always declined, insisting he was not ready.
Growing into a tall and muscular young man, Jain eventually lost his master when she was captured during a battle against Sith. Shortly afterwards, Jain was summoned to Tython to undergo his final trials, as the council felt they could no longer deny him the rank of knight. Becoming briefly apprenticed to Master Yuon Par, Jain stopped the rogue Force-user Nalen Raloch from attacking the temple. Shortly afterwards Yuon fell ill with a sinister plague, and Jain set out to save her, saving several Jedi Masters in the process, defeating and redeeming the fallen Jedi Parkanas Tark, and saving the Jedi Order from destruction. For these deeds, the council bestowed upon Jain the title of Barsen'thor, warden of the Order.
Jain was then assigned by Supreme Chancellor Janarus as an envoy to the Rift Alliance with the task of preventing these worlds from seceding from the Republic and thus causing its downfall. Jain proved the Republic's good will by performing actions that the Rift Alliance requested of him such as liberating the world of Balmorra and saving the king and queen of Sarkhai from a Child of the Emperor.
After securing the Rift Alliance's support, Jain led a campaign to secure allies for the Republic. He gained the allegiance of an army of Esh-kha, a Voss Mystic and his team, all the while while being opposed by the Children of the Emperor, who he all defeated. Nadia Grell, daughter of Senator Tobias Grell, was also assigned as Jain's Padawan according to her father's last wishes. The hunt for the Children of Emperor eventually culminated on Corellia, where Jain defeated and redeemed Master Syo Bakarn, the host of the First Son of the Emperor. With Syo's redemption, the veil over the other Children fell, revealing all of them to galaxy. Jain and his allies were then honored as heroes in an award ceremony, with Jain being granted Syo Bakarn's seat in the Jedi High Council.
Some time after gaining a seat on the council, while on a diplomatic mission to Zarashtra, Jain encountered the Jedi Knight Ardashir Savangham, with whom he got on well. The two quickly became friends, and eventually confessed their love for each other, starting a clandestine relationship and becoming lovers.
