The Invasion of Nievar was an engagement that took place on the planet Nievar early in the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems. Eight weeks after the First Battle of Geonosis, Separatist Marshal General Yosip Zagoonga launched an assault on Nievar with his Lucrehulk-class Battleship Queen of Independence, several Munificent-class star frigates, and a few Recusant-class light destroyers. A heavily outnumbered regiment of Republic clone troopers withdrew from Nievar after a brief fight, resulting in a CIS victory. This victory allowed the InterGalactic Banking Clan's Nievar division to fund the Separatist war effort.
