The Interminable was a Galactic Republic capital ship and space station. The largest in the fleet and the galaxy, it was the location of the Republic war council and served as one of the many government headquarters for Republic during its eight year war effort against the Human Imperium. It was so large that it reputedly had a small cloning station in the bow of the ship (at its narrowest point). It was christened the Interminable because of its seemingly endless size and the Republic's ceaseless effort to defeat the Imperium.
Behind the scenes[]
The Interminable was created by I'm the Chosen One. The idea behind a transportable cloning center and warship predates the Epic of the Star Wars saga. The idea of a super ship was conceived after rewatching the Original Trilogy, specifically Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, in 1997 and after reading about the Supercarrier designs that the United States was applying to its Navy. The idea of placing a cloning facility in the ship did not manifest until after the release of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and it took another year for the idea to use clones and a cloning facility to be accepted. The ship was inspired by the Executor, which was the flagship of Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and the Chu'unthor a self-sufficient Jedi ship and academy that roamed the galaxy.
