The Infiltrator was the Venator-class Star Destroyer flagship of the Morsian Jedi Master Urde Ra'akdoon. The ship served as Ra'akdoon's primary flagship during the Clone Wars until its destruction shortly after the beginning of the war in 22 BBY. After Ra'akdoon came into ownership with the craft, he modified it with an improved shield generator, weapon systems and powertrain, with the ability to divert power to one of these three critical systems, to boost its capability at the expense of one of the other systems.
History[]
Construction[]
The Venator started construction at Kuat Drive Yards some point prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars, and Ra'akdoon got his hands on the ship in 23 BBY when the 666th Legion was formed. Ra'akdoon modified the ship to have improved weapons, shields and engines as well as the ability to freely transfer power between the three. Ra'akdoon had not yet named his flagship.
Battle of Geonosis[]
The flagship first saw action during the Battle of Geonosis, where the ship defended itself against the Geonosian fighters that flew to attack the Republic fleet. The ship suffered little damage and was used primarily as fire support for the troops on the ground, giving orbital bombardments to the planet below.
Battle of Jakkor[]
The Infiltrator was a part of the 666th's fleet as they responded to the Separatist invasion of Jakkor along with the 212th legion. After beating back the Separatist fleet in orbit, the 666th legion travelled to the planet's surface whilst the Infiltrator blocked the planet against further Separatist attacks. The ship had a new admiral, the 666th Legion's tactical droid, who commanded the ship and its crew of reprogrammed Separatist droids. Whilst the legion was on the surface, the Infiltrator fought off several Separatist attempts to break the blockade, suffering minor damage as the Republic fleet was progressively weakened whilst the legion on the ground were being pushed back.
Ra'akdoon contacted the Infiltrator to request a gunship and ready a smaller ship for a hyperspace jump, where he intended to travel to Florrum and requisition supplies for the legion who were running out on Jakkor. Whilst he was gone, the Infiltrator was on standby to send down gunships to the legion below, in case they needed to evacuate. After getting back, he returned to the planet and saw the dire situation the legion was in, and called in an evacuation to the fleet, using gunships from the Infiltrator to evacuate his men. When Ra'akdoon himself elected to stay behind and occupy the droid forces whilst his men escaped, the Infiltrator dispatched two gunships full of reprogrammed Separatist droids who aided Ra'akdoon in escaping the droids and returning him to the fleet.
In orbit, the fleet came under attack by a Separatist fleet that came from hyperspace. The Infiltrator fought back along with the rest of the Republic fleet and succeeded in destroying the droid fleet, with the tactical droid updating Ra'akdoon on damage sustained to both the flagship and supporting fleet. When a Lucrehulk-class battleship arrived out of hyperspace, Ra'akdoon ordered the ship to transfer all power to its shields whilst the ship hung in space. The ship's improved scanners detected anomalies on the ship and when it was discovered to be a giant bomb, the increased shield capacity allowed the ship to survive the resulting explosion unscathed.
During the planetary counterassault, the Infiltrator acted as a large relay station to Ra'akdoon, allowing him to monitor the planetary eclipse as well as having reinforcements on hand for when the first phase of the assault was completed.
