The Imperial Conquistadors were a large galactic criminal cartel that was formed after the times of the New Republic, 11 ABY to be spacific, by the former Galactic Empire Imperial Navy Major Kalkaroff, who formed it out of what remained of his Navy unit, the 9th Imperial Expansion Region Fleet. At first it was composed of a squadron of Star Destroyers and TIE series spacecraft and several thousand former Imperial gunners, soldiers, pilots, and crewmen, but later, after various recruitment and other work, the Conquistadors were the most powerful gang out there in The Galaxy.
The Conquistadors were formed by Kalkaroff after the fall of the Galactic Empire. After it's collapse, Kalkaroff saw how the Imperial Remnant was weak and most of the remaining military split off and joined different warlords. Going underground and rebuilding his troops was better, so he left his former post in the Expansion Region went into hiding on the Outer Rim Territories world of Cyrillia to prepare.
After all of the warring and work, the Conquistadors were the biggest gang in The Galaxy. They controlled the entire criminal underworld, and dwarfed the Black Sun, Hutt Cartel, and Zann Consortium. When the powerful Ssi-ruuk Imperium took control of the galaxy, the Conquistadors stroke a deal with them and the Imperium accetped. The deal was to help the Conquistadors exterminate every other criminal gang, and so the Conquistadors controlled the underworld, and acted on their own, but also did what their Imperium overlords wanted them to.
History[]
Formation[]
In the year 11 ABY, the Galactic Empire was defeated at the forest moon of Endor during the Battle of Endor by the Rebel Alliance and the two most important figures, Galactic Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, were killed. The Empire fell amok after that and they formed the Imperial Remnant, though most Imperials split up and joined various officers who became warlords using units under their command. The Rebel Alliance was remformed into the New Republic.
In the Expansion Region, Imperial Navy Major Kalkaroff and his unit, the 9th Imperial Expansion Region Fleet, heard about the defeat even though it was in the Outer Rim Territories, and decided to get revenge. Kalkaroff heard of the warlords and was disgusted. In the next few days, he saw five warlords and their forces get destroyed and killed. Then, he realized that going all out war by yourself politically wasn't going to bring the Empire back. He decided to go underground and form a criminal organization with his fleet and troops.
However, the Navy Major knew that the New Republic Intelligence knew of the 9th's position in the Expansion Region, and he took his fleet to the Outer Rim Territories world of Cyrillia, located in the farthest reaches of the Rim, near the Unknown Regions.
After he reached the world, he landed his Star Destroyer fleet in the remote northern mountains and made his palace and Conquistadors headquarters there. His engineers from the Imperial Department of Military Research designed new armor and uniforms for the group, and they made copies of them and used them. After nearly completing the base and palace, Kalkaroff sent recruiters into nearby towns and the planet's only spaceport to recruit, and recruited about a thousand personnel.
By the time his palace and base was completed, Kalkaroff hacked Banking Clan, Corporate Alliance, Commerce Guild and Techno Union bank accounts and gave the Imperial Conquistadors (what he named the cartel) billions of credits, and used them to buy starships, hire mercenaries and pirates, and buy droids.
Rise[]
Kalkaroff moved his operations off world in late 11 ABY, and by 12 ABY the Conquistadors owned the worlds of Cyrillia, Lehon, Nar Shaddaa, Nal Hutta, Ukio, and had cells on countless more worlds.
Also, the Conquistadors attacked several New Republic strongholds, most notable attack being the one on the New Alderaan nova crystal base, and stole several billion credits worth of nova crystals. Meanwhile, Kalkaroff also hired many pirates and mercenaries to help his efforts. Also assassins and bounty hunters. By mid 12 ABY, the Conquistadors had 50,000 troops.
In late 12 ABY, the Conquistadors's first major victory came. The cartel attacked the secret Black Sun shipyards at Sullius Van, taking them quickly. They used the shipyards to get hundreds of more ships and also took many prisoners. Afterwards, the New Republic and Black Sun were both after the Conquistadors, who captured various worlds. Meanwhile, Kalkaroff hired six companies of Mandalorians, and used them to conquer the Hutt Cartel world of Klatooine, and also established outposts on Kesh.
Kalkaroff made the Conquistadors an enemy of the Imperial Remnant that year by making an outpost on the Imperial capitol of Bastion, though the Imperials didn't take any action to get rid of the outpost.
Conquistador Army[]
The Conquistador Army was the ground troops unit of the Conquistadors. It was made up of assassins, mercenaries, bounty hunters, freelancers, Imperials, and Republicans. The Army also utilized a large array of vehicles. Kalkaroff ordered the Conquistador personnel to hijack vehicles from captured bases, though by 12 ABY the Conquistadors had at least three shipyards to use to make their own ships and vehicles.
Vehicles[]
The Conquistadors used hundreds of vehicle models, though these are the main ones.
- All Terrain Armored Transport - Large Imperial walkers captured and used by the Conquistadors. They were common in the cartel armies because of the Conquistadors's constant raids on Imperial and warlord strongholds.
- All Terrain Scout Transport - Smaller Imperial walkers that were captured during raids on Imperial bases and strongholds. Though less useful than the AT-ATs, they numbered smaller than the AT-ATs and seen less action.
- BARC Speeder - A fast speeder bike that was easy to make and very effective, and was the favorite of scouts and assassins.
- Ocean Troop Transport - An older model of transport used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. They were found along with other old Separatist vehicles on Mustafar and Hypori.
- Corporate Alliance Tank Droid - A tank droid that was constantly deployed to fronts by the Conquistadors.
Conquistador Armada[]
The Conquistador Armada was the main naval force of the Conquistadors, and was made up of hundreds of vessels. Originally made up of pirates and militia troops and ships, the Armada grew and eventually boasted ships as large as Super Star Destroyers. The Armada was a key component of the Conquistadors.
Vehicles[]
- Imperial-class Star Destroyer - A basic Star Destroyer class used constantly by the Conquistadors due to their former service to the Empire.
- ISD Interceptor - Light interceptor found on the world of Korriban in old Sith Empire holdings. They were one of the most highly used craft in the Armada.
- TIE/sa bomber - A bomber invented by the Empire that was used by the Conquistadors.
- TIE/In starfighter - Basic starfighter designed by the Empire that was rarely used by the Armada.
