Idris is one weapon, the sabers are incomplete without eachother.
—Quoran Wenvaas

The Idris were a pair of lightsabers constructed by the Gray Jedi Quoran Wenvaas. The blades were constructed with a rare amber crystal. Quoran Wenvaas later fractured the crystal to produce two sabers, making blades quite similar to that of the Legendary Ermi Jedi. This weapon was attuned to kinetic abilities. The user Quoran Wenvaas was known for his use of Geokinetic abilities, but rather than using his hands to do this, he channeled the force through the weapon to use it in combat, much like Starkiller did with force lightning in his own lightsabers. History

Invention

The Idris were constructed around 20 ABY BBY by Quoran Wenvaas. Quoran had previously guarded a rare amber crystal that he had found a few years prior which he used in the construction of the lightsaber. Quoran had realized the importance of the crystal after the death of his adoptive father, Kir Vilo. Quoran began to build his lightsaber but soon came to realize that the weapon he was making would not be suitable for him as an individual. Quoran spent the next year practicing with various vibroblade weaponry on the planet Barrith which concluded with his conclusion that a single bladed weapon would not be suitable. After having imbued his energy into the crystal, he fractured it. This allowed him to begin constructing the Idris, each component was made in parallel to the other, and imbued each one with his unique force energies. This allowed him to use Geokinetic abilities through the saber, among others. The lightsabers were completed within the year. Quoran Wenvaas had experimented with many designs but once he had settled on the final version he melted the others down.

Use

Training

The Idris saw their first use soon after completion against three Marksman-H Combat Remote Droids. Quoran Wenvaas found the exercise honed his skills though he soon found that it had become to easy for him. He later stole a prototype model of a Jedi Training Droid headed for Coruscant. He used the prototype BCA-12/B in training his dueling skills. The droid was made by Jedi Technician, Kazdan Paratus. Quoran Wenvaas found that the sensor was faulty and upon replacing it he found that the response time of the droid was purposely lowered to account for its more brutish attack mode. Quoran Wenvaas edited and added to the Program of the droid to account for more fighting styles which allowed him to become a more proficient duelist, as he improved he would improve the droid as well. Quoran knew that the Jedi lacked the vision to see that this theft could have been performed by the Sith, he knew that this would receive little attention and replacements could always be made. This allowed him to get away with stealing the droid from the shipment.

Duels

Ru Taigo

The first duel against another force sensitive took place in 16 ABY when Ru Taigo mistook Quoran as a Sith. The duel was ended quickly though because of Quorans Intuitive attacks and Ru Taigos limited knowledge of dueling.

He continued to train Ru Taigo personally after the formation of Titanus.

He later dueled Ru Taigo when Ru Taigo when Ru Taigo made his way into the personal vault of Quoran Wenvaas. This was where Quoran Wenvaas had kept most all of the artifacts that he had located in his lifetime. Many of these artifacts were ancient sith artifacts, and the untrained apprentice fell crippled to the floor, turned by the mere presence of so many artifacts of the Darkside. The energies filled him with blinding hate and anger. When Quoran Wenvaas found him lying on the floor the student awoke suddenly, pulling his lightsaber into his hands. The boy was so overcome by anger and hatred that his blue lightsaber blade was corrupted into a low red glow. Quoran ignited the Idris in anticipation. Ru Taigo placed precise attacks on his master, putting him off balance. He struck to the right of the blade, then the left and lunged, shoving Idris towards his master's chest. The force of this strike sent Quoran's hands into a violent quaking motion as he tried to repel the advancing blade. Their blades still crackling together, he sheathed both blades, quickly pivoting out of the way of the attack. The student fell forwards, quickly regaining balance. Quoran huffed,

"Enough!"

Ru Taigo smirked. He lept into the air, performing a backward flip overhead, he attempted to strike his master from above. Ru Taigo thudded to the ground when Quoran Wenvass pulled a stone from the wall, hurling it at Ru Taigo and knocking him unconscious.

Darth Thon

In their first meeting, Darth Thon insisted that Quoran Wenvaas must be a Jedi, sent to kill him. Before Quoran had time to explain, Darth Thon ignited his curved hilt saber. Quoran noted the unique design and curvature of the saber, the switch component facing outwards from the curve. Darth Thon lept, spiraling towards him with his saber overhead. The Idris created a blockage to his saber in a vertical parallel, though the deflected saber knicked Quoran's right forearm as it continued to slide through a gap between the sabers. Darth Thon spun his waster horizontally to regain his footing and threw Quoran into the wall with the Idris providing perfect leverage. Dazed, Quoran directed his left saber towards the ground, then upwards towards Darth Thon. The earth fractured, the rock mounded itself and hurtled towards Darth Thon, sending a wave of rock, rumbling over itself. Darth Thon stepped back in surprise, then braced himself with his saber infront of him as the rock engulfed him. Quoran stepped to his feet saying "I'd hoped we could have a civilized conversatio-" An explosive sound deafened Quoran as the mound of earth was sent flying outwards in all directions. Quoran noted Darth Thon's strength as he arose from the crater he had just created. Shards of rock sliced his abdomen, though most were deflected by Idris. Quoran slid backwards in the dirt. Darth Thon charged at Quoran, aiming to decapitate him in a downward swipe. Quoran dodged and spun his shoulders with his arms fully extended. He landed a blow on the sabers switch component. This deactivated the saber and welded it that way. Quoran threw a nearby rock in order to swipe Darth Thon's legs out from underneath him. Continuing the twisting motion with his hips, Quoran landed one foot on the wrist of Darth Thon, then pointed Idris both at his throat and his other arm, restricting Darth Thon's movement. After further explanation, Darth Thon joined Titanus.

Rol Dund

Rol Dund, a member of Titanus was corrupted by a Sith Sword, which he had found in their vault after a recent incident convinced Quoran Wenvaas that it would be selfish and hypocritical of him to restrict the access to such items as he had for so many years. Rol Dund attempted to assassinate Quoran Wenvaas in his sleep but due to a premonition of the incident, Quoran awoke in time to block the blade with Idris. During the duel, half of the Idris was destroyed. This was Quoran's last duel as his student, Rol Dund stabbed him using the stub of the blade after Quoran Wenvaas had shattered the sword. Rol Dund later claimed the remaining half of Idris as his own weapon, making minor adjustments.

Obsolescence

The weapon was retired in 62 ABY when Rol Dund killed Quoran Wenvaas in a duel, once Rol Dund was brought back into balance he decided to take up the remaining half of the Idris as his own. Rol Dund replaced the crystal with his own Adegan crystal, one of a pale blue coloration. Later in 62 ABY Rol Dund discovered that many of the lightsaber components themselves were attuned to their former user, Quoran Wenvaas. This meant that he was limited in the use of the saber, and so reluctantly he replaced them with minor changes. Rol Dund decided to not rename the weapon, he simply referred to it as his lightsaber so that he could honor Quoran Wenvaas as much as possible. He also did not attune his lightsaber to himself as Quoran did with Idris. In a drunken bar fight, Rol Dund was angered and ignited his saber, bested by an opponent using a vibroblade. He later found his opponent to be the granddaughter of Balach Garron, Essi Garron. Rol Dund found her to be a more worthy user of the weapon, in both pride of her and shame for his actions under influences of Alcohol. Beyond this point little is known about the usage of the weapon or where it later ended up.
