The Icenian Armed Forces, or Icenian Army was the armed forces of the Icenian Confederation on the Morsian Protectorate Planet Undulis.
History[]
Creation[]
The army was formed from the rising need of having a standardised army to defend the growing collection of confederation settlements appearing on the planet. Initially, there was no true standing army and only local militia for each settlement to act as a police force. As these settlements grew and started to gain their own Publicae Auxilium forces as a police force, it was realised that a true standing army would be needed alongside them. As such, when the confederation was formed between all the settlements, the need for an army only grew exponentially.
Early formation[]
The army was small initially due to the limited size and number of settlements, but as more immigrants came to Undulis and more settlements popped up, and subsequently joined the confederation, the army kept on expanding in number of legions. The army saw little actual combat outside of skirmishes with the Wookiee tribes who were a little more hostile to the immigrants than others. Other than those skirmishes, the army only saw combat with bandits or criminal gangs that needed the army's intervention.
Old Sith Wars to Galactic Civil War[]
During the Old Sith Wars, the army was placed on alert along with the planet in case of a Sith invasion. Whilst the Sith Empire never attacked the planet, instead electing to invade Mors itself in the Siege of Mors, the war did help the army grow closer with the forces of the Wookiees on the planet, improving relations between the immigrated settlers and native Wookiees as they showed solidarity with the Morsians. At the end of the war, the army was stood down as the threat of invasion passed. It was not until the Clone Wars when the army was next placed on high alert, in preparation for when the Morsian Empire eventually joined in the side of the Galactic Republic, though it never came to anything as the war ended before the Morsian Empire could officially join.
During the Galactic Civil War, the army spent most of its time working with the Imperial Intelligence Bureau to combat separatists and partisans paid off by the Galactic Empire during their proxy war with the Morsian Empire. These partisans were supposed to cause bad blood between the Wookiees and settlers, as well as in fighting in both groups as a way of breaking apart the Morsian Empire. However, thanks to the spies of the IIB and the army's efficiency, the partisans were always stamped out quickly before they could cause too much trouble. When war was officially declared between both powers in 0 BBY, the army remained on alert in case of an invasion, though nothing came of it during the war.
After the fall of the Galactic Empire[]
The army returned to peaceful duties at the end of the war between the two Empires in 5 ABY, and turned to its usual modus operandi of keeping the borders secure and working with the recently formed Morsian sect of the Jedi Order, who came out of hiding at the end of the war. The army occasionally helped to train the Jedi and themselves in organised fights between the two, serving as practice for the army in case they had to fight other lightsaber wielding opponents. During the age of the First Order, the army was on alert in case of invasion, but the First Order never got close to Morsian space for this to occur.
