Wald Szanor Remirsz Hyka'ar (formally styled as His Most High and Excellent Grace, Lord Hyka'ar, Lord Protector of Zilibar, Grand Chieftain, Paramount Chieftain, Governor-General, and First Magister for Life) was a male Demorian military officer and former Jedi who served in the Army of Light, Grand Army of the Republic, Galactic Empire, and Alliance to Restore the Republic.

In 1029 BBY Hyka'ar joined a group of disaffected Republic citizens to fight the forces of the New Sith, assuming command of the dreadnaught Freedom. The following year, he led his forces in the Third and Fourth Battles of Zilibar, freeing the planet from the Sith yoke. Soon after Liberation of Zilibar, the natives, called Zilibarians, appointed him as their new ruler. He joined forces with other Jedi Lords to form the Army of Light and fight the Brotherhood of Darkness.

After the end of the Ruusan campaign and the subsequent Ruusan Reformation, Hyka'ar refused to disband his military forces, deciding to leave the Jedi Order and live on his adopted homeworld. Twenty-five years after the end of the Hundred Year War, he was in command of the Freedom on a special mission to transport the former Sith Lord Darth Vex to Coruscant to stand trial. However, an acolyte of Vex infiltrated the ship and managed to damage the ship's hyperdrive, which caused the Freedom to accidentally jump over than nine hundred years into the future.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Hyka'ar was born into an aristocratic family on Demor Prime, where he lived long enough to have memories of the world and his family, before being handed over by his father to be trained by the Jedi Order.

At Jedi crèche he was placed in the Hawk-Bat Clan, where he began to learn the ways of the Force and Jedi traditions. After completing the Jedi Initiate Trials, he became the Padawan of Bral'ian Jedi Master Jido So'ont Antinik.

Hundred-Year' War[]

At age twenty-seven he left the Jedi Order to take part in the war against the Sith. Using funds from his family, he assembled a small army. His first battle was at the Third Battle of Zilibar, where he defeated a Sith force despite a two-to-one disadvantage. Less than two weeks later, the Sith launched an attack with even greater force. Although it seemed a losing battle due to the ten-to-one outnumbering, Hyka'ar and his allies succeeded after a 32-day siege, destroying or capturing all of the Sith ships.

Hyka'ar was a male Demorian who had grayish white skin, gray eyes, black hair and a height of 2.03 meters.

Hyka'ar was known for his quirky personality, eccentric behavior, and stereotypies, being described by some as a "lunatic maniac". Despite this, he was also considered an excellent warrior and a brilliant strategist, although some of his allies and colleagues considered his tactics and methods too risky and reckless.

His unique personality was also present in his leadership style. Although he was a reserved person and had few friends, he talked to the soldiers and learned things about them, as he believed that this helped the esprit de corps. He was also loyal to his troops, not risking their lives without risking his own, and did everything in his power to ensure that as many as possible returned alive.

He was also a scholar, studying various subjects, such as history, culture and language, being fluent in several languages such as binary, Gunkian, Huttese, Dathomiri, and others.

Lightsaber combat[]

Hyka'ar was considered one of the greatest swordsmen in the history of the Jedi Order. He preferred Form V, using his immense brute strength to overpower and subdue his opponents with flurries of raw power attacks. However, he also often applied elements of Form IV and Form VI, using the Force to increase his reflexes, agility, and speed, as well as using Force-based attacks.

A demonstration of Hyka'ar's incredible capabilities was his fight against General Grievous. Even using his four arms, the Jedi hunter cyborg was forced to use his MagnaGuards in order to escape.

As a master of Shien, Hyka'ar was also highly proficient in deflection, as he demonstrated on Klonthar, where he dodged every shot fired by the overwhelmingly superior Separatist droid force.

Equipment[]

During the Clone Wars, Hyka'ar flew the Pride of Zilibar, a modified Delta-7 Aethersprite. He also operated the Freedom II, a modified Venator-class Star Destroyer that served as his flagship, from which he commanded his fleet.

During the Imperial Era, he exchanged his troops' fighters for TIEs, with his personal fighter being a TIE Advanced x1.
