House Repose of Styran X was a Kolkan of Gargan's Empire and a member of its governing Landsmeet. They controlled the planet Styran X, taking the fief from House Isid after the latter had been exiled due to ties to the assassination of Gargan the Fang. They rose to power during the Golden War, establishing themselves during the Battle of Styran X and Massacre at Hessen Station as an accomplished family of spies and assassins. Traditionally, they were seen as a rival faction to the Agunna Shiv - with the Reposes being given special accomodation by the Empire to conduct political assassinations or kidnappings.
Within the Landsmeet, House Repose were usually feared and have had an unsavory reputation. They were noted for their ruthlessness, cold and calculating nature, secretion, and martial capabilities. Members of the family were trained as assassins and commandos, with younger members being educated as spies or military liaisons.
Culture[]
Members of the Repose bloodline had dark hair, pale eyes and sharp features. They were slight of build and of average Tyrrhan height.
The Reposes were seen as a mysterious family, keeping more secrets than any other Kolkan. They were excellent trackers, hunters, assassins, and security experts. Styran X was an almost impenetrable planet and difficult to survey due to the many anti-surveillance systems installed by the family. The Reposes launched microscopic probes into the planet's atmosphere that could scramble comms and mask heat signatures. The Hall of Repose, the seat of the family, was built over Castle Isid whose architecture could be described as "plain" or "unassuming".
Entrance to Styran X was restricted, with many believing that the Reposes hid state secrets deep in their underwater archives. Only the Gargan or members of the family could enter. Since the Reposes rose to power not long after the assassination of Gargan the Fang, some in the Landsmeet believed that they were truly the ones to have hired the Agunna Shiv and framed the Isids of the murder in a bid to take their power. While this theory was never proven, it was supported by at least House Serrin and House Royce.
