House Osnor of Osnoraan was a Kolkan from Gargan's Empire with modest influence in the Landsmeet. They governed the planet Osnoraan from the ominous Fort Osnor, though they originally held the planetary fief of Benefictus, whose lordship later changed to their vassals of House Aberforth during the New Sith Wars. The ruling member of the family formerly held the title of Varkhan and later Mauron. The head of House Osnor traditionally held a seat on the directorate of Gargan Corrections.
As rulers of Osnoraan, the family developed a reputation for being diligent, dutiful and just. However, they were also known to be cruel and ruthless because of their treatment of prisoners on Osnoraan. House Osnor held humble beginnings as a minor noble house on Benefictus, later growing to prominence during the New Sith Wars when a member of the family, Devin Osnor, became the Gargan. Elevating his family to a position of higher power, the Osnors were given control of the newly-founded penal colony of Osnoraan, which they controlled for generations since.
During the Clone Wars, Osnoraan's true intention as a prison planet forced the Galactic Republic to oust Gargan's Empire from the Galactic Senate, and Osnoraan was shut down. After the fall of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire assumed control over Osnoraan and drove the Osnors from their homeworld. It is unknown what became of the family, though they later returned to Osnoraan at the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. It was unknown if the Osnors ever reestablished Osnoraan as a prison planet.
Although they were the nominal rulers of Osnoraan, their "hands-off" approach to governing their planet allowed for criminal elements to evolve, making them the eventual rivals of the Agunna Shiv, the Trygg Mandate, the Locke Gang, and the Icerunners. Despite their austere and authoritarian rule, the Osnors were seen as just another gang - albeit a very advanced and organized one.
