Holdus Gaan was an Akurian Jedi Brute who survived Order 66. He wielded a viridian lightsaber, although he later swapped crystals, so his new blade was purple.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Holdus Gaan was born on the Akurian homeworld of Akuria II. He was Force sensitive and was discovered by Jedi Master K'Kruhk at a young age. He was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi. Because he would grow to a large size, he was to be placed in the Jedi Brute program when he was at a suitable age. While he was still in training he was placed in Krakana Clan.

Order 66[]

The youngling clan was taken off Coruscant for a training mission. On their way back they passed over the planet Dimock. However they were shot down while in orbit. The younglings managed to get into an escape pod while the ship began to crash. They were later rescued by the Jedi team of Tadra Kren, Yulo Gart and Molkir Tyd. However, while escorting the younglings to a spaceport, Order 66 was initiated and the Clone turned on their generals. Luckily, the Jedi managed to escape by hijacking an RTT and fleeing into the jungle. Yet the Jedi knew that they could not run forever, and so Tadra ordered Molkir to take the younglings and run into the wilderness while they held off the Clones. The group managed to reach a spaceport and Molkir to used The Force to persuade a smuggler to take them off the planet.

Life in exile[]

The group landed on Artus Prime, where Molkir agreed to teach the younglings everything he knew. Yulo allowed Holdus to construct a double bladed lightsaber because of his massive size and strength. While being trained, he became friends with his fellow padawan, Arla Downe, who he often allowed to ride on his back. Holdus used The Force to hone his senses and frequently meditated when not training for combat. He was aware of the fact that two of his fellow padawans, Kori Dannus and Kallus Eikh’mir often snuck off, and admonished them for it, but didn’t tell Molkir about it. When Kori rebelled against Molkir, Holdus and the other padawans attempted to subdue him. Holdus was temporarily able to hold Kori by using Force Stun, but was forced to release it when Kori overcome the effects through sheer force of will. The two dueled briefly until Kori used Deadly Sight to bring Holdus to his knees. Luckily for Holdus, his training partner, Taro Manus worked with Arla to attack Kori and draw his attention away from Holdus. Holdus passed out from the pain and later awoke to find that Kori had been exiled from their group.

Battle of Artus Prime[]

Years later, Artus Prime was invaded by Imperial remnants. Holdus and the other Jedi stayed in hiding because they knew that they could not defeat the Imperial forces on their own. When Kyle Katarn later lead an assault against the remnant, Molkir and his padawans joined in on the fight, helping the New Republic forces to defeat the enemy soldiers. After the battle was over, Katarn offered the Jedi a place in Luke Skywalker's new Jedi Order. They accepted, and Holdus took on a Galderian padawan.
