The Federation invaded the planet and their droid army swept into the capital city of Theed. Lieutenant Hawke was on patrol at the time, and as the droids rounded up and arrested civilians, he was ordered not fire on the invaders, except in self-defense. The lieutenant eventually had no choice but to engage the attackers, and reported that he was under attack just near the Security Forces headquarters.
During the occupation Hawke fought with his N-X and a mixed force of other N-X and N-1 fighters to liberated a Trade Federation internment camp, this successful mix of vehicles brought the Trade Federation's droid forces into disarray days before the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship was destroyed in orbit over Naboo.

While most of the companies concentrated their resources on the main trade lines, CCS used light freighters to offer logistical services to the local trade lines. The Flagship of the company was The Stoke a R10C Consular-class cruiser. Waverly Cassidy, Jack´s younger sister, recruited Hawke in to the company as a pilot for the Emerald Star her Nova-Drive 3-Z light freighter.
