Hellenes Gracca was the fourth planet of the Thisspias system. It was orbited by the moons Selun and Eriny.

Human colonists became stranded on the world in 28,000 BBY. Their descendants became the near-humans who called themselves Tirikkin. Since the planet was colonized before the formation of the Galactic Republic, the Tirikkin did not have hyperdrive, only primitive sublight space travel. They used sublight colony ships in a seemingly failed attempt to colonize neighboring Beroutz; all the colony ships were believed destroyed, but one actually crashed on the world, its passengers establishing a primitive culture.

The Tirikkin on Hellenes Gracca (and on Beroutz) lived in a number of city-states. Each city-state was ruled by an independent monarch. The monarchs established a trice with neighboring Thisspias when a Tirikkin ship landed on that world in 7,900 BBY, and the two worlds jointly agreed to join the Galactic Republic when discovered by Nimbanese traders in 5,432 BBY.

In 1,000 BBY, the Thayolen warlord Patrev declared himself Emperor of Beroutz and Hellenes Gracca. In truth, he initially only established control of primitive Beroutz through outright, planning to take over the Hellenes Gracca more gradually. The people of Hellenes Gracca denied his claim to rule them vehemently, although their starfighters could not break his blockade of the

Patrev eventually decided to solidify his control of Hellenness Gracca. He secretly hired pirates to attack the planet's most powerful city-state, Thelisae, in 802 BBY. The attack resulted in the death of the city's warlord, King Arhidreth. The king was succeeded by his widow, Alren-hi, due to the fact that none of their sons were of age to take the scepter. Patrev then left Beroutz and went to take up residence on Hellenness Gracca.

In 801 BBY, Patrev seduced and married Alren-hi. However, he did not claim the kingship. In 800 BBY, Alren-hi bore him a son, Algyd, after which Patrev mysteriously disappeared from the Thisspias system, along with his fleet. Hellenness Gracca and Thisspias then rejoined the Republic, although primitive Beroutz, which had never belonged to the Republic, remained under the control of Patrev's children. However, many local monarchs decided they had preferred independence from the Republic, and the city-states entered a bloody war between pro- and anti-Republic factions.

What the Tirikkin did not realize was that Patrev's alchemist ally, Jantrek, has established a monster-breeding "reserve" in the wilds of Hellenes Gracca. These monsters eventually spread across the planet, terrorizing it. Jantrek brought with him a number of servants who colonized Hellenes Gracca, including Miraluka, Melodies, Rognogs, Erinyds, Verpine, and Chironians.

However, in 782 BBY, Prince Algyd of Thelisae, son of Patrev and Alren-hi, began a quest to cleanse his world of evil, in cooperation with the Jedi Yoda, Ambrose Ius, Zorith, Zudu, and Veronica. He took out the pirates who had slain King Arhidret, eradicated many of the monsters, and united the city-states. He joined the Jedi in taking out the G'ye Cult on neighboring Beroutz. Algyd, now a war hero, was then elected Senator of Thisspias sector.

In 774 BBY, Queen Alren-hi died and her Algyd became King of Thelisae and united the planet under his rule. King Alkeri of neighboring Beroutz also surrendered his throne to Algyd, and took his place as Senator of Thisspias Sector. From that point on Beroutz and Hellenes Gracca had a single, united government. The monarchy of Algyd's family became a constitutional monarchy under the influence of the democratic theories developed on Beroutz.

Algyd's son Prince Ilo replaced Alkeri as Senator in 759 BBY, but most subsequent Senators for the Thisspias Sector came from other worlds such as the planet Thisspias. itself.

In 13 BBY, Imperial Advisor Bobatine came on a "diplomatic" (actually espionage) mission to Hellenes Gracca, accompanied by Inquisitor Kyon, Agent Rothem, and Agent Pescado. They managed to take out the planetary shields, allowing for a full-scale Imperial invasion.

The planet had only one large continent, but numerous peninsulas, archipelagos, and islands. There were many active volcanoes on the planet, and a number of forested mountain valleys with isolated city-states.

Behind the scenes[]

This planet was based of Greece as pictured in Greek myth. The name comes from two ancient names for Greece, "Hellas" and "Graecia."
