The hallikset was a musical instrument consisting of durasteel strings strung over a fingerboard and a circular sound board equipped with several amplification resonators. Though primarily used in an acoustic capacity, such instruments were also commonly equipped with piezoelectric pickups in their bridges and output jacks for connection to external PA systems.
