HK-44: “Correction: I am a functioning robotic humanoid who is currently experiencing malfunctions regarding my acts of tracking down individuals in an overly-professional manner and then proceeding to end their existence through systematic execution. Furthermore, my internal hardware which consists of an operating device installed in the laryngeal prominence-like area of my upper exo-skeletal part of my robotic husk which results in my programming allowing me to converse to other organics and non-organics in a verbose and highly formal way, is simultaneously experiencing malfunctions. I sarcastically have great tolerance for this unfortunate happening but deep down I am feeling the emotion most commonly associated with depression and deep negative feeling of despair.
Strove Vangasa: You could've just said: "yes"...”
―Heke's first encounter with Strove Vangasa
HK-44, known mostly as Heke, was a Hunter-Killer assassin droid and former Jedi hunter of the Sith Empire. Somewhere during the Great Galactic War, a Light Sith Lord, named Prince Beren Gerthlin, reprogrammed the droid using a modified HK protocol pacifist package. This made Heke more humanitarian and peaceful, but did not completely delete his hunter-killer programming. Shortly after defeating the dreaded Dark Lord Darth Nox, the Galactic Republic allowed Heke's current owner, Strove Vangasa, to install a freedom chip inside Heke's head, which allowed him to break free of his programming and making him able to make his own decisions. After the installation, Heke no longer vocally prefixed every statement he made with a speech conditional that described the type of statement that it was. For example, if asking a question, he would first say "Query:" before beginning to speak. After being given free will, he stopped speaking this way. Aside from this, Heke also speaks in a manner of great verbosity, describing objects and subjects in excessive, superfluous, and even redundant amount of words.
