The Guinean Armed Forces, also called the Guinean Military, was the unified defense force of the Republic of Guinea, in charge of overall protection of the planet. They were known as one of the least corrupt militaries in the Zafrika Sector, and undertook operations on less stable worlds such as Chad and Liberia. Most members of the Guinean military were trained by either the Galactic Alliance Intelligence or Galactic Alliance Special Operations Command.

The Guinean Army was the largest branch of the Guinean military, consisting of roughly 30,000 soldiers. They were used alongside Guinean Police to provide law enforcement, and fought rebellions. Much funding came from the Guinean Republic government, though other sources included the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.

The Guinean Navy was the other branch, and consisted of three bulk cruisers, ten frigates, and about fifteen patrol vessels. The starfighter corps of the Navy consisted of about forty fighters, provided by the Galactic Alliance Fleet Intelligence. Their job was to defend air space around the planet.
