The Guardians of Lettow, also referred to as Lettow, were a group of individuals sworn to the dark side of the Force. Circa 522 BBY, the Lettow formed a subservient alliance with the Order of the Sith Lords.
History[]
Thousands of years prior to the Invasion of Utapau, Carden Mannux created a clone of Isabella Dashin and Ussej Padric Bac III, the grandson of Shaman of the Whills Ussej Padric Bac, whom Mannux named Damien Starkiller. Years later, on orders from Mannux, Starkiller organized a group of Force-sensitives to be trained in the ways of the dark side of the Force. This group became known as the Guardians of Lettow.[1]
These early Lettow hid on Lehon, setting up a headquarters in the Temple of the Ancients. They remained there for thousands of years until forming a subservient alliance with and swearing their loyalty to the Order of the Sith Lords. This alliance came at the end of the Hol Insurrection, an event that nearly destroyed the Sith from within. As with the Sith, the galaxy-at-large did not know of the existence of the Lettow.[1]
As of 22 BBY, a number of Lettow served the Sith Lord Darth Maul. These Lettow were led by Lilith, Maul's most trusted lieutenant.[3] That year, Maul and the Lettow attacked the sanctuary of the Ophuchi Clan on Tatooine. Their goal was to locate and capture Annikin Skywalker, a local moisture farmer whom they believed was destined to destroy the galaxy. They were stopped, however, by Ussej Padric Bac, who used an ancient Bendu ritual to cast them away.[1]
Training[]
Lettow are trained to be mindless and expendable drones, a necessity when there are only two Lords of the Sith.
—Ussej Padric Bac
According to Ussej Padric Bac, Lettow were trained to be mindless and expendable drones by the Order of the Sith Lords, which he said was a necessity due to there being only two Sith at one time. Nevertheless, while the Lettow were not trained as intensely as Jedi or Sith were, Bac still considered them dangerous.[1] Their training was also geared to make them completely loyal to their masters.[3]
Locations[]
Following their organization by Damien Starkiller, the Lettow headquartered themselves on Lehon. They established their home within the Temple of the Ancients. Circa 522 BBY, during the Hol Insurrection, the Lettow continued to operate from the temple when they affiliated themselves with the Order of the Sith Lords.[1]
