Great Galactic Library
The Great Galactic Library Is the largest library in the galaxy.
History[]
The Great Galactic Library was built in 138 ABY by the Galactic Alliance Educational and Cultural Division as a way to preserve all the galaxy's knowledge for future generations.
So, in 138 ABY the Galactic Alliance funded the construction of the Great Galactic Library and its foundation was laid in Coruscant's CoCo Town district.
After several months of construction, the Great Galactic Library was finally finished.
Layout[]
The Great Galactic Library's layout consists of hundreds of thousands of shelves spread out in even rows in tens of thousands of rooms,the library also consists of hundreds of reading rooms,lecture halls,three dozen observatories,planetariums,and a room containing a colossal interactive holoprojection of the galaxy.
Staff[]
The Great Galactic Library's staff consists of hundreds of thousands of librarians,cleaning droids who keep the entire library clean,repair and maintenance droids who repair and maintain the library's equipment and structures,catalog droids who catalog and preserve the library's contents,and copying droids who copy the library's collection.
Security []
The Great Galactic Library's security consists of the most highly advanced security systems in the galaxy, including the most powerful security cameras,weapons detectors and bio-scanners developed by BlasTech. Additional security includes 13,000 Jedi,12,000 Galactic Alliance soldiers,13,000 Battle droids,and 12,000 Coruscant Security Force officers.
Collection[]
The Great Galactic Library's collection contains hundreds of millions of printed books,scrolls,manuscripts and holocrons and the Great Galactic Library is also well known throughout the galaxy for containing complete information on 10 million sentient species.
The Great Galactic Library is also known to have a policy that all information on the Sith and the Dark Side is strictly prohibited to store at the Great Galactic Library and that any information that is gathered must be destroyed so they won't fall into the wrong hands.
Current renovations[]
The Great Galactic Library is currently undergoing many new renovations including the adding of a massive museum,168 more observatories and planetariums,an entire research wing,a colossal holocron chamber that is accessible to the public,and a catalog system.
