The Gray Jedi Temple was built by the Founding Seven after being drawn to the immense nexus of Force energy centered around the planet Zonama Sekot. The Seven befriended the Ferroan and Langhesi inhabitants and enlisted their help in forming the new holy site of the Gray Order.
