Colonel Granthum was a Human commander during the final years of the Bane Crisis. He fought with the Disciples of Bane and was the one who surrendered their forces at the Battle of Phark.
Biography[]
Working for the Disciples[]
Granthum was a minor commander in the Disciples army, behind those of Mera Dan, Admiral Driez and Commodore Bacqui. However, he did help Darth Doruk lead the ground assault at the Battle of Strageus and in other battles.
Granthum was part of the strike force at Phark, which proved a disaster for the Disciples, with much of the fleet being destroyed. With the deaths of Darth Razor, Darth Zeron and Captain Egrec, Granthum was left in command of the fleet. Seeing that all was lost, he surrendered and he was taken into custody. He was later released by the Republic and given an honorable retirement following his participation in the Liberation of Strageus.
Retirement[]
Thirty years later, Granthum was over eighty when he became a target of the reborn Darth Sharka. On Strageus, Granthum was granted a Jedi protector Gadore Barak. However, when Sharka attacked, Barak was killed and only the timely arrival of a group of Jedi saved Granthum from being captured.
Finally, at the age of ninety seven, Granthum went on one last mission to help Republic Commander Sirix to infiltrate the Xeros Asteroids and engage Zan Azar, a former lieutenant of Granthum's during the Bane Crisis. As Granthum was one of the few people left who knew the location of the Disciple's base, he was the only man for the job.
As Azar's fleet engaged the Republic force, Granthum bordered a fighter and flew into the battle. Seeking out his former comrade, Granthum flew straight towards the bridge of Azar's flagship. He fired too missiles which lowered the bridge shields long enough for him to crash his fighter into Azar's command station. The blast killed Granthum and Azar as well as rendering Azar's flagship useless, turning the tide of the battle in the Republic's favor and winning the battle for them.
