This article is about the ancient deity in the Alternative Saga. You may be looking for the original version of the deity or other uses of the name.

God was the name of a deity worshiped by ancient monotheistic religions in the galaxy. When Elias, the founder and first leader of the Ophuchi Clan, discovered what he believed was his true destiny, he felt the energy of the Force flowing through him as if the Force was talking to him. He believed that the ancient religions would have called it a vision from God or the voice of God.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

In early drafts of the Alternative Star Wars Saga, God—under the name Yahweh—was directly synonymous with the Force, making the Force a sentient deity.[2] This draft also included real-world religions, such as Judaism, as that draft of the story ultimately ended on Earth and was meant to unite all of the real-world religions together with the Force.[3] The story has since been cut from the Alternative Saga.[2]
