General Gerolt Raxus was a human male who served the Galactic Republic and Galactic Empire throughout his life. He was a distinguished military officer during the Clone Wars and went on to become the commanding officer of the Imperial Reclamation Service.
Biography[]
Raxus was born on Corellia in 65 BBY and was the youngest of six siblings; his father was a domineering local tradesman and shoehorned his youngest son into attending the Judicial Academy on Coruscant when he was old enough. Although Raxus did not appreciate being forced into military service he came to enjoy the work he undertook as a member of the Judicial Forces and established himself as a young talent within the peacekeeping force, rising through the ranks quicker than most. However, at the breakout of the Clone Wars Raxus joined the Grand Army of the Republic, serving as a major before being promoted to colonel close to the end of the conflict.
In 19 BBY upon the formation of the Galactic Empire, Darth Sidious hand-picked Raxus to head the Imperial Reclamation Service due to his level of experience and relatively advanced age meaning that he was not best suited to military operations anymore. After successfully guiding the Reclamation Service through its first few years of expeditions, in 15 BBY he was promoted to general. Several years later Wupera Kavos joined the Reclamation Service and began working closely with Raxus as its chief agent, coordinating various expeditions from its headquarters in the former Tower of First Knowledge within the Imperial Palace.
In 4 BBY Raxus was considering organizing an expedition to Moraband on Kavos' advice when Darth Vader entered their headquarters and asked to speak to Kavos alone. General Raxus, not wanting to upset the Dark Lord of the Sith, quickly obeyed and bowed out of the room. In the following years Raxus continued to lead the Reclamation Service into the Galactic Civil War, sending Kavos on a mission to Yavin 4 in 3 ABY to recover Darth Syrinn's Sith holocron from her tomb after it was discovered by Delof Terallo and subsequently asking her to recover a lightsaber from Rodian weapons vendor Kreshna Sh'i on Coruscant.
In 4 ABY Raxus was killed on Coruscant defending the Imperial Palace from soldiers of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Behind the Scenes[]
Raxus was created by HarmonyGrex for his short story The Inquisition to lead the Imperial Reclamation Service, although he was indirectly mentioned in Survival. His name was inspired by another character of his in a former chronology, Girrolt Raxis.
