Galiir Aagon was a male Human who served as an Emperor's Royal Guard, later as an Imperial Sovereign Protector, in the Galactic Empire. Though a Force-sensitive, he preferred using weapons and hand combat, as he was not very strong with the Force, and used his other strengths to make up for it. During the Galactic Civil War, he took on field missions for Emperor Palpatine, who entrusted him with a force of shadow stormtroopers, known as the Nightstalker Battalion. Their primary task was hunting down Jedi who survived Order 66 and treasonous Imperials who deserted or defected to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Aagon, shortly before the Battle of Endor, began to grow very ambitious. When Palpatine was killed in 4 ABY, Aagon declared himself a warlord, taking the troops under his command (and gaining others), and creating his own faction, the Imperial Revolutionary Command Council.
The Command Council itself was composed of a number of generals, admirals, moffs, and governors who decided to join his faction in a bid for power. Aagon claimed that the Coruscant government was not capable of leading the fracturing Empire, and set out to overthrow that regime before continuing the war with the New Republic. The Command Council had a considerable force at it's disposal: a fleet of twenty Star Destroyers, thirty dreadnoughts, and forty cruisers, as well as many fighters and support vessels. The ground forces included his shadow stormtrooper legion, as well as several corps-sized formations of Imperial Army troops, and a number of stormtrooper regiments. The Command Council, under the leadership of Aagon as the Chairman of the Council, took over several sectors in the Mid Rim of the galaxy, and annexed the forces of several other warlords. They also clashed several times with the Republic.
