Galen Nestina was a Jedi Knight during the Old Republic Era. He and his twin brother Lucien Nestina were taken from their homes at a young age to become Jedi.

Born on the impoverished world of Amaranthine he and his older brother Lucien were orphaned when Rodian Slavers invaded the planet. The two young boys watched helplessly as their mother was murdered rigt in front of them. They were then captured and forced into slavery. Lucien and Galen attempted to escape several times but were always caught. They endured brutal punishments at the hands of their masters. For years they endured the hardships of life as a slave hopelessly resigned to their fate. When they were 15 however they were rescued by a Jedi Knight named Sartika Mithkel. He sensed that both boys were very strong with the force and were taken to the Jedi Temple of Coruscant for training.
