The Galactic Republic Technology Division was an elite division in the Republic Military, it comprised the best and most elite slicers and technicians from around the galaxy. With outbreak of the Cold War, they were charged encrypting Republic messages and transmissions, cracking enemy codes, as well as maintain any Republic technology.
History
The division was founded sometime prior to the Cold War. With the Treaty of Coruscant, the Supreme Chancellor wanted a way improve the quality of the Galactic Republic's technology to out compete the Sith Empire. A slicer group was created under the division to maintain the security and secrecy of sensitive data.
The division was most notable in aiding in the creation of the ZR-57 orbital strike bomb.
Equipment
Slicers and technicians received advanced datapads which could be customized to the user's preferences. Technicians carried an advanced tool kit. Slicers were equipped with self-built Scramble keys. They also carried mini slicer probe droids, slicer chips, electronic lock breakers and an universal jammer.
