The Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, also known as the Federal Galactic Republic, but most commonly the Galactic Alliance, was the galactic government directly following the New Republic during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Nathaniel Kenobi Solo was one of many who helped form it.
During the War of the Resurrected Emperor (50 ABY) and the War of Worlds (53-57 ABY), the Galactic Alliance was loosely referred to as the "New Republic" by Divilan Sivilain who was its Chief of State at the time. His death in 55 ABY resulted in an official reinstatement of the name 'Galactic Federation of Free Alliances' for the government in 56 ABY.
