The Galactic Empire was an authoritarian state founded in 19 BBY by the last Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, Sheev Palpatine, A tyrannical state reknowned for its cruel actions against entire populations for minor or nonexistent misdemeanours, it underwent a major ideological overhaul in 14 BBY upon the creation of the first Oversector and the appointment of its leader, Grand Moff Cassio Tagge.
