—Gaius Demyus to East Point Military cadets

Gaius Demyus of Agra was an Acroyali warrior and the Grand Admiral of the ASE Navy from the Clone Wars to the Second Galactic Civil War. He was best know for his leadership of the infamous Acrolian 3rd Fleet, a unit which saw an often unbroken string of victories against such diverse enemies as the Confederacy of Independent Systems' battle droids and and the Yuuzhan Vong.

Biography[]

Gaius Demyus was born in the Acrolian warrior city of Agra to wealthy parents. He was sent to the famous East Point Military Academy and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Acrolian Border Patrol, earning a reputation among Acrolian military leaders for his fearless use of unconventional tactics, and was soon made a captain of a small gunship. He continued to gain commissions and metals for his service, and at the age of 30 was the youngest man to gain the rank of admiral.

After the reorganization of the Acrolian Republic into the Acrolian Star Empire, Demyus was made the Grand Admiral of the newly formed ASE Navy. He utilized his budget to create new ships and expand the marine forces. Within a year, the ASE had a powerful navy that began terrorizing the Confederacy of Independent Systems and its local forces.

During the Imperial period, Demyus stayed out of the limelight, instead experimenting with new ships and star fighters, to keep the Navy up to date and trained. Demyus returned to the galaxy during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion to fend off the biological attackers, and soon thereafter was returned to his position as Grand Admiral during the Second Galactic Civil War, handing out defeats to all the sides involved in the conflict. He died soon after the Scourge of Acrolis, a deed which forced him to retire for its infamy.

Personality and Traits[]

Gaius Demyus had a commanding personality, one that often terrified his subordinates. Many commentators compared him to Grand Admiral Thrawn of the Galactic Empire in his use of unconventional tactics and his desire for power. Despite this drive for power, he never betrayed his Emperor, Drewika Zirátæ, a man he respected and admired.
