I would like to know two things. First, since I wrote Darth Dararus before I had an account, but identified myself later on, can it still become an FA? Second, if it can, I'm going to need help promoting it. Can anyone help me with that? (by the way, I already know it needs lengthening. I could use some ideas for lengthening it. Also if anyone responds on August 12, don't expect a answer until tomorrow. It's close to my bedtime.) Kermit has been turned to the dark side 02:54, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes you can still nominate it. You are even allowed to nominate articles that aren't yours, but we don't normally do that since it requires the actual author to edit content. Any article has the ability to become a Featured Article, it just requires dedication, an extreme amount of patience (CoS usually gives the newer user a faster chance at getting an FAN through, unless you farm for votes), and a few other factors that are beyond your control. The council of seers can help you with that outside of the actual nomination process and a particularly helpful person on that front is Solus, who is the review maestra. However, I might be able to help.-I'm the Chosen One 05:21, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Additionally, the best practice to ensure a swift review is to head onto the IRC channel (The wiki chat won't be as busy as the IRC). Here is a link that grants free IRC usage without downloading a thing: http://webchat.freenode.net/. -I'm the Chosen One 05:24, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, finding people on the IRC is one of the easiest and best ways to get a review. Otherwise, make sure you follow these requirements, and you could nominate it which would certainly garner several reviews. I would suggest trying the IRC first, but it is up to you. Ok, how do I contact Solus? Kermit has been turned to the dark side 17:05, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Ok, now what? Just wait? Kermit has been turned to the dark side 17:28, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

  • Well, you'll have to wait a while until Solus has time to review. While waiting, you could work on bringing the article up to FAN level. I know I saw some Point of View, and maybe some grammatical errors. Savage1138 17:33, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Just list the errors and I'll do the rest. Kermit has been turned to the dark side 17:35, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Hold on, I have to let my brother on for a wile. Kermit has been turned to the dark side 17:43, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

After a very quick scan I already know you need to read this: Forum:WT:The Treacherous Waters of Mary Suedom. Enjoy. -Solus Talk to the Hand 19:52, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

I read it before. I did think there would be some Mary Sue in him, but I didn't think much of it at the time. How can I make him less Mary Sueish? Kermit has been turned to the dark side 19:51, August 13, 2011 (UTC)

  • Heh, I was bored enough to read this, as it's only like 6 paragraphs long anyway. I'll tell you how and where and why he's a Mary Sue. In every way, shape and form. Anyone who reads that intro could tell you that. But let me instead delve into the rest of the article where the "details" are. The whole early life is unbelievable. He tricks his slave master, tricks a guy for money, tricks everyone on Nar Shaddaa for everything. Yet you don't explain how, why, or who would do this for him. Story has no circumstance, no substance, no reasons to believe any of this stuff. We don't know why people would believe him or do things for him. You give us no reason to make this remotely believable, so how can you expect anyone to think he's not a Mary Sue? That is what a Mary Sue is. He just does awesome stuff and gets what he wants at will because he's awesome like that, aka because you said so. Then, "due to his Force sensitivity" the Emperor notices him. Yeah, of all people in the galaxy, Emperor finds some slum who's 'tricking' everybody into doing stuff. Lemme train you nowz. It just makes no sense. Emperor isn't on the scout for new awesome recruits to take his place, or at least your story doesn't say why this does happen. Again, a Mary Sue flag here. No sensible reason why the Emperor would be looking for him, choose him of all people ever to live. It's just not reasonable in its current state. This is what makes this guy a Mary Sue. I hope that helps, because I actually don't feel like going forth anymore. It'd just be repeating myself again and again. Squishy Vic talk 20:52, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
