We currently have a rule for good article nominations that says this:

To be a good article on Star Wars Fanon, a nomination must have at least six (6) votes, of which at least four (4) must be contributed by Council of Seers. Articles will remain on the nominations track until they receive the required amount of votes or until the author pulls the nomination, but they need to be on the nominations track for at least one week even if they receive the required number of votes before then.

Emphasis on the bolded part. I would like to remove that, making that rule this:

To be a good article on Star Wars Fanon, a nomination must have at least six (6) votes, of which at least four (4) must be contributed by Council of Seers. Articles will remain on the nominations track until they receive the required amount of votes or until the author pulls the nomination.

We put this rule in a long time ago because no one reviewed, they just quickly voted for good article nominations and let them pass quickly. Sometimes, the few people who did review GA nominations didn't get a chance to review by the time these articles passed.

I proposed this rule's removal nearly two years ago, but it was shot down then. However, now that we've gone through another two years and more changes and growth in the community, I'm proposing it again; we review now, and while we do take quite awhile sometimes, if 4 Seers actually review an article in 2 days and it gets their votes plus 2 other votes, I see absolutely no reason why the article should have to sit there for another 5 days.

Anyway, it's up to you guys. All matters of the voting policy apply. Please be civil. This CT will last at least one week (irony!), until Saturday, December 11, 2010, unless more or less time is required.

  1. As long as this doesn't mean that if there is no consensus after one week the nomination will be removed, I'm okay with it.--Sw9889 (Who am I?)(Have something to say?) 04:33, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

Keep the 1 week rule (0)
