Fool Squadron was formed in 6 ABY by the Nautolan strategist Ek Romer in 6 ABY. Recruiting podracers as pilots for the New Republic because of their fast reaction speeds, he hoped to give the New Republic an edge in the fight against the Galactic Empire. The squadron was disbanded in 11 ABY.
