Five Deaths was a term of special significance to the disparate residents of the Mure system that was used in a variety of poetic and prosaic contexts. "Five Deaths" frequently referred to the five main astronomical objects present in the Mure system, namely Mure, the Monolith, the Twins asteroid fields, and Mure Prime. Relatedly, it was also a poetic way of referring to the five prehistoric planets that existed in the Mure system prior to its encounter with the Galactic Center supermassive black hole and subsequent expulsion from the Deep Core. The Rakata of the Mure tribe also used the phrase to refer to the Infinite Empire's five failed invasions of the Mure system during the Celestial-Rakata War prior to its conquest in 34,129 BBY.
Behind the scenes[]
Initially the name of the Mure system, the "Five Deaths" was intended as a tribute to Las Cinco Muertes, the island chain that served as the setting for the Jurassic Park novels and films. It was also named to draw parallels to the Legends continuity's Five Brothers, the worlds of another artificial star system constructed by the Celestials.
